West Beach Inn, a Coast Hotel - Santa Barbara

Thank you to all the friendly staff that helped us during our stay. Our stay at the West Beach Inn was great! Everything was super clean- room, garden, facility! The bed was real comfortable and the pillows were nice and fluffy :-) it was great location within walking distance to everything and we will definetly stay again.

Whether you are in SB for the beach or for shopping this is the place to go . The hotel is quite small but the rooms are a good size. Small pool overlooking the beach. 3 blocks from State St makes for an easy stroll and 3 blocks from the Brewhouse if you are in to very tasty local brews.

Really liked the hotel. It was small and comfortable with all the conveniences we needed. The staff was very helpful and nice and you can't beat the location. Our room was very clean and quiet.

it was a really good experience the young man who help us at the front desk even give us a map and a book about places we could visit we went to the botanical garden. Thank you and we will stay there again.

Everything exceeded our expectations. The staff was professional and the entire hotel was spotless. We generally stay at a different hotel out of town, but really enjoyed the change and will make it our 1st choice for next year. The location is perfect for all the activities we love.

I was really happy that I chose this location not knowing the Santa Barbara area and was pleased with how close to everything and everywhere I wanted to go. Had a really nice weekend. This place has a really nice location that is both close to the beach and state street. I enjoyed the free breakfast that was provided and the wine and cheese socials every night were a great bonus too

Comfortable, friendly staff...your basic standard motel. The free continental breakfast was appreciated, likewise the free parking. The only oddity worth mentioning is the odd placement of the A/C window unit, which is UNDER the desk. VERY hard to get to, virtually impossible to operate with the curtains drawn. Other than that, very pleasant.

We had a great time. We had planned to stay a b & b, which would have been a little nicer in terms of the room, but the location was great and we were on the beach side, third floor and the view was awesome.

it is always great to be right by the train station and not hear the train so much. great location near the pier. love the quaintenance. Staff at the welcome desk are great, courteous, really nice and comforting.

The hotel is located across the street from the lovely Santa Barbara harbour. We had a spacious well appointed room with comfortable beds and pillows overlooking this harbour on the third floor. We enjoyed watching the coming and goings of pleasure craft and working boats.. I had a delightful stay at West Coast Inn. The room was small but clean and well-equipped. The Continental breakfast was just right. It is located just a short walk from the pier and looks over the pier and harbor. I plan to return, and I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing get-away.

We stayed over the New Years Holiday and stayed in one of the rooms advertised as having a "grand view" of the harbor. After so many times staying in rooms that advertised a view only to staying in a room that required one to stand on the balcony to have any sort of view I was suspicious up front. This little hotel is a great balance of location, service, and affordability. It clearly is an older hotel that was nicely renovated. The pool and hot tub were lovely, and there is always fruit, coffee and tea available to take back to your room. No complaints at all about our stay here.

Enjoyed 2 nights with friends to celebrate my 50th birthday. Had breakfast poolside in the morning and wine & cheese in the evening. Hotel is very close to the wharf and downtown State Street. We could walk everywhere. Enjoyed the free Wi-Fi, chocolates on the nightstand and the robes to wear down to the pool and spa. Will stay in this hotel again!

The hotel staff were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was clean and tidy as were the pool area and garden. During our three day stay we had fresh supplies of coffee and tea each day along with chocolates on the bedside table. The free internet worked well. Good hotel BUT if you are travelling without a car you should note that everything in the local area, including hotel restaurant and room service, closes at 10pm. After a delay at the airport I couldn't even get a sandwich: the only option offered was to dial-in from a local pizza place.

My stay at this hotel was a complete nightmare. I received a nasty call from the front desk accusing me of smoking in my room. I stated clearly that I had not smoked in the room and that they should come up to the room to verify my claim. We arrived to find a couple sat right outside our door on the first floor smoking like chimneys. The door to the apartment had a one inch gap at the bottom so the room absolutely stank of cigarette smoke. We eventually got moved after an hour of phone calls and firstly being told that they had no other available rooms - only to find a family sized one […] just like that! The air con is not air con - more a fan that has been wedged into a hole in the window. It blows cool air in but it's just a very noisy fan - which you need to keep on all night otherwise you would overheat - so you have a choice of being hot or hearing a very loud industrial fan.
