GRANDOVER RESORT - Greensboro

We ordered room servive which one item was creme brule and it was totally cold. Then we realized we had gotten a piece of red velvet cake but never ordered one. we are not ones to complain so we didn't. We just paid the bill when we checked out. The only other thing we didn't like was the breakfast buffet. I'm not talking about the champaigne breakfast […] I'm talking about the regular buffet breakfast. For the amount that is charged we thought there would have been more to choose from. Other than that the hotel was very pleasant to stay at. When checking in the young lady at the front desk stopped helping me, i black, for another man who walked up, he wasn't black, to check out print his invoice answer his questions everything. Then several times that i called different areas the phones werent answered. No answer in room service, the front desk, housekeeping, the spa...... different times […] different areas. Then when we went to the restaraunt and were asked "are you staying here?" upon our arrival before being seated. I had a group of teens with me who constantly noticed the treatment. Fantastic bargain for what you get ...comfortable rooms, golf course, spa, and restaurant all right there. It may have been the best value that I have stayed at over the last year.

My stay at grandover was great. The only concern I have is for some type of noise dampening on the doors. I was able to hear every passer by even at 5 or 6 in the morning. Otherwise everything was exceptional and I plan to return next year. Br

Second stay at Grandover. This time for NCA&T's homecoming weekend. Accommodations were great and room service was second to none!

One BIG callout I had was the level of noise and "partying" that was going on in the hallway from midnight to 1 am. Calls were made but it seemed like it went on for a long time.

My wife and I spent the Memorial Day weekend 2011 at Grandover as a weekend getaway-anniversary celebration. It was our first stay at Grandover and I was pleasantly surprised at the resort's affordablilty - expecting it to be much more expensive. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The hotel staff was excellent and went out of there way to make it a […] first class experience for us. It was a pretty slow weekend so it was like we had the place nearly to ourselves. The pool and spa was very relaxing and the resturant, though a bit pricey was excellent. To top it off, as my wife slept in in our spacious room, I enjoyed a quiet round of golf on one of the most scenic golf courses in the area. very nice resort; had a great dinner in the restaurant; only drawback I experienced was understaffing; one person working at the front desk slowed check in; 2 phone calls prior to arrival were not answered and finally directed to voicemail after sitting on hold for 5 minutes

We arrived at the Grandover after having driven ten hours from Pennsylvania. They had overbooked our room, and it took them about 45 minutes to get another one ready. In the meantime, we needed to change in order to be properly dressed for dinner, which we had to do in the ladies room! Very disappointing for one of the best hotels in the Greensboro […] area. Undoubtably, one of the nicest USA hotels we have stayed in. Their DiValletta Restaurant was a pleasant surprise as it was both elegant and very reasonable; an excellent value. Our first room was noisy due to some building equipment (central HVAC units?). The second room had a localized buzz, but it proved to be the mini-fridge. Since its on-off switch […] didn't work, pulling its plug fixed the noise problem (which I reported upon check out). The staff of the hotel and golf facility are second to none. We had a small pre-wedding golf outing for 8 and were treated like royalty by everyone from the Director of Golf to the starter on the first tee. We had noticed this resort from the highway many times and decided that we would stay here for a leisurely one night getaway. The property is beautiful both inside and out. Entryway and reception area are gorgeous. The rooms were very nice and comfortable, but not extraordinary. We could always hear if anyone went in and out of nearby rooms. Housekeeping […] was up and about very early (even vacuuming hallways) which did not allow us to sleep in as planned. We were turned away from the main restaurant (Saturday before Valentine's Day, no reservation) so we ate in the Cafe. After dinner, we enjoyed one of the two fireplaces in the lobby. Five stars for a five star hotel! Our stay was made more perfect by the professional service we received by staff.

I set this trip to getaway from the kids for a night. My wife and I had a great time it's the first night we had a chance to be alone for a couple of years. The room was outstanding and upscale you just can't beat a fine place like this, it's a five star hotel what more could you ask for.

Enjoyed the views and the gardens. Peace and quiet. A great getaway place .
