We took our grandson down for a 3 day high school football camp. The location was excellent because it was right across the street from the practice field. Hotel Capstone was absolutely everything I wanted it to be. I chose this hotel because it was on the University's campus, and it would eliminate one my biggest problems when I return to Tuscaloosa for any football related event: parking. The staff at the hotel was extremely helpful and pleasant, and the room was nice. No complaints at all!

If you are interested in everything your hotel neighbor is doing, stay at this hotel! The walls are paper thin. We were disturbed and embarrassed continually. This is not a nice hotel, the only things going for it is the location and the restaurant. We will not spend the money to stay at this hotel again. All the problems concerned the bathroom. It was small and awkwardly arranged. The bathroom shower did not drain properly, the water pressure was poor, and there was poor, if any, ventilation. One had to actually get inside the shower to turn the water on, resulting in freezing cold water until the water warmed up. We reported the shower drain issue. […] We were told it was fixed, but when we showered again, it was not. It was very disgusting to have standing water. If I had tried to shampoo my hair, the water would have flooded the bathroom. So, I could only take a very quick shower the last morning of our stay. While the location to The University was fabulous, the check-in staff was very nice,and we were pleased to have a renovated room, the room in my opinion was overpriced given the quality of the room. The bathroom was tiny, the shower was not clean, and the sheets were of low quality.

Great Hotel -- Just finishing a remodel so the bathroom had a shower leak water behind toilet. Let staff know and I am sure it will be fixed. Other than that I would stay there every time I go to Tuscaloosa AL. Beds were great and staff was excellent.

My daughter will be a freshman at UA in the fall and this was our second time staying at Hotel Capstone. The hotel staff make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. We love this hotel! We always stay here for campus visits. The staff is always friendly and accomodating. This past weekend Legends was closed for remodeling but they set up a breakfast buffet in a meeting room, gave the chef a couple of gas burners and he made omelettes short order style. Very good! The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. […] The bathrooms are in need of updating, but they have that scheduled for this spring. Most surprising of all...we left an itouch in the bed and didn't realize it for hours. We called back to the hotel to see if they had found it, and the housekeeper had TURNED IT IN!!!! Room was not ready at 3, or 4:30 when I returned. Room service breakfast order form gave the delivery time choice of 6-6:30. When I ordered mine, they caleds at 6:30 to say they just opened. It is located on the University of Alabama campus, which is what we were wanting; therefore, the location was perfect. They were undergoing some renovations and remodeling, but it was hardly noticed, other than plastic over the hallway carpets. It was also convenient to dining and shopping.

The building is older and needs a total remodeling. Sheetrock is falling from the ceiling cause of a leak above it. The rooms need a microwave and fridge. The hair dryer is of poor quality. The room needs a RJ 45 connection for a laptop's internet card. The exhaust fan in the bath doesn't work. A copper pipe sticks from in front of the shower head coming […] down from the ceiling, it needs to be cut out and patched over. It's an old water pipe. There isn't a thermostat that controls the room temp so your at the setpoints determined by the maintenance determinator. It was cool so i used the hot shower to heat the room. Front Desk very helpful in suggesting restaurant and later in responding to difficulty in room. Our room was spotless even though the bathroom was showing its age. The bathrooms are being renovated soon. The thermostat did not control the temp in the room at all. The front desk sent a technician to adjust the heat. It had been too cold, but then was […] too hot rather than having the tech come again we just turned off the fans when it got too hot. It was ok, but not optimal. The room was 319 I think. I was a bit disappointed. The last time we stayed at the Capstone our rooms were much more spacious. This tome our rooms were in the corner so they were a good bit smaller.

I have stayed at the Capstone several times because of the location to the UA campus and I love the decor of the hotel. My room this time had a terrible shower. Most of the water sprayed onto the ceiling and the shower head had been so stripped that it would stay out to accomodate my height. I did tell the desk clerk and he was very apologetic and actually […] put the room out of service until the repair was made. I will definetly stay at the Capstone again. The location was good if you have a student at Univ of Alabama. The parking was free, the rest was not a good experience. The wireless was inoperable the whole 4 day stay(no price adjustment), the TV did not work(no solution or price adjustment), the bathroom sink did not drain(fixed it 2 times, kept backing up), the hot/cold fixture in shower came […] off in your hands every time you tried to turn the water on and it was on backwards(never did fix this), and even though we paid for breakfast in the price, it was a continual fight to get it without a trip to the front desk for them to verify. Overall the stay was a good one. The mattress on our bed was terrible; felt like lying on concrete floor. The bathroom could have used a little more cleaning; looked like the floor hadn't been mopped.

You cannot beat the location if you have business at the University of Alabama. I was able to walk to my appointments, saving me the endless search for parking. I stayed at this hotel with my 15 year old son because he had a school function on campus. The hotel was super close to his event, resturants, and shopping. The staff couldn't have been anymore helpful. My son was attending his event at 9 in the morning on the day of our arrival which left me with pretty much no where to go since most hotels won't let […] you check in before 3pm. I went ahead to the hotel just to see if it would be ok for me to hang out in the lobby until check-in and to my amazement they let me go ahead and check-in to my room. This was one of the nicest hotel that I had stayed in a long time that I had to give bad remarks to. Location perfect, They gave us an executive room, clean, confortable, Very nice Staff. Problem began when we notice that the HAVC was not working. The guy at the desk put the order in. We had gone to see BB King and got back to the room rather late, […] HAVC was not fixed, There was no one at the counter to help us or to re assign us a new room. Also no Fridge in the room, as a well seasoned travel person, I learned a long time to bring my own drinks, snacks, desert etc. To be honest, even the worst motel and hotels have fridges the rooms, This caught me off guard, Since I had brought items that required fridgeration. Even more strange was that the shower hot and cold were reversed. Took me 15 minutes to figure out why I had no hot water. It was a one knob faucet.
