the hotel itself is beautiful , in nice surroundings and very clean and tidy.The staff were so warm and friendly always cheery and always attentive , cannot fault them at all. "Great Easter Break at the Holiday Inn"
I had stayed here over 10 years ago and knew the facilities were good Spa , gym Swimming Pool etc, but what we didn't expect was the superb staff and "nothing was too much trouble" service. Comfortable hotel with a decent gym and pool together with sauna. Internet connectivity seemed a little expensive as did the breakfast. "Very clean hotel, bed a bit hard."
Found staff very helpful, room and hotel were very clean but we both found the bed a bit hard. Coud do with a lick of paint on the doors ad carpet a bit threadbare in places. "Very child friendly"
The hotel staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, giving us an early check in when I arrived with my 16 month old. They produced a lovely fun pack for her, set up a travel cot and helped with my bags. The staff were equally as lovely at the pool area and all in all, the hotel staff made our stay very pleasant. Very helpful staff and extremely friendly. The best pool we've been to in a mid-range hotel! My only negative comment is literally the whole place could use new carpets - they were pretty stained and affected my overall feeling about how the place was presented. We certainly enjoy this hotel but as older travellers would have thought there would have been an elevator to the second floor to deal with suitcases. However, having said that they always have someone on hand to help when needed. The other point would be the cost of internet. When you travel as older people having contact via e-mail or Skype is imperative […] so everyone knows where you are but the cost becomes prohibative in many UK hotels not least the Holiday Inn. Otherwise we really enjoy the warm and friendly staff, great room with towel rail in bathroom which many hotels do not have, and excellent restaurant. On arrival very pleasant and helpfull at the reception desk. Rooms were spacious clean and comfortable.Although we had on occasions the smell of cigarette smoke which seemed to come through the vents in the room,which we found very unpleasant. The hotel is just off the roundabout to A12 so is quite covenient but it's a bit of way to town. The walls in the room is quite thin so can hear next door easily which I'm not that happy with.
