Good hotel ideally situated just behind the picturesque Bryggen, around the corner from the harbour and various restaurants, 3 mins to the Floibannen funicular, and close to the airport busstops. Slightly dated in decor but rooms large and well maintained. "Very Poor Service"
I was very surprised to experience the level of service which was not satisfactory at all – during check in my mum and I asked the male receptionist if he could confirm the baby cot I requested on hotels.com’s web page when I booked the stay. Apparently he only got info of an extra bed to be added to the room, not a cot. I explained to him that my 6 […] month old baby could not sleep in an adult bed as he will fall out and needs to be put in a cot for secure reasons. All of a suddent he became very unpleassant and started arguing. I was choked as I im a calm way just was interested in finding a solution to the issue after 7 hours of travelling, incl flying, with a 6 month old baby. It was evening and my baby was tired (so was I) after the travel so the sooner we could solve the problem the sooner we could all sleep. The receptionist said he was on his own and could not leave the reception so he could not confirm when he could hand over a cot to my room. OK, I had to wait. We had some difficulties to find the lift as his guidence was not very clear. We went back to ask for the direction and in a rude way he pointed in a direction, asking us to follow some people infront of us…we was surprised to find out there was 5 step we had to enter before getting to the lift, not very convinient with a push chair, baby and big suitcases. And we found the next day the lift was out of order so we had to ask someone to carry the push chair up to 2nd floor but that is another story…Anyway when we finaly got to our room we wanted to order some food, I called reception and he was again with a bad attitude, transfering me to the kitchen. I called the reception again to ask when his shift was finished so I could have an idea of how long we should wait for the cot – again he was very unpleassant, raising his voice to me, interrupting when I was talking and just not very nice. "good location but shabby service"
The hotel is a great location but there was hair in our room (a suite) in the bath. We complained and were moved straight away to be fair. Breakfast was so badly organized though, no where near enough staff to cope and the hot stuff seems to be constantly run out. Avoid the cold eggs.....

We had a view of the water which was perfect, the room was large for an older, european hotel, overall we were quite satisfied with our stay.

We had a huge family room with a separate smaller bedroom. It was a very quiet room and we slept well. The breakfast was great. The hotel is close to the SAS Airport Bus stop and in the middle of the prettiest part of Bergen, by the seaside. Well, our room did not have a sea view. "First Marin Hotel Bergen"
The superior room was big and cozy, and affordable. The staff was also helpful. Only thing I put my finger on was dust hanging down from the vent on the bathroom, and no curtains/shields on the bathroom window.

Excellent location on a quiet street near the tourist sites of Bergen. We were upgraded to a suite, which was quite luxurious. Breakfast was excellent as well.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean, well-furnished and everything seemed new and in great condition. The staff was helpful in answering our questions. The location was great and very close to all of the main attractions in Bergen. If we return to Bergen, I think it's likely we will stay at the Marin again.
"Quiet Room, Great Location, Smaller-sized Hotel"
Despite arriving very early (10:15 a.m.) for my stay, I was cheerfully given my room, anyway - a HUGE plus after over 9 hours in an airplane to arrive at Bergen. Great english speaking skills by front desk staff, though they were also kind enough to allow me to limp along in broken Norwegian whenever I engaged them in their native tongue. I was always […] quietly greeted by the front desk whenever I entered the main lobby, and I appreciated this from normally-quiet and reserved Norwegians. The hotel looks a little battle-worn (needing new interior paint and carpeting in the room hallways) on the way to the rooms, but I had a charming, attic-level suite with lots of space, power jacks, and good amenities. It was a lovely room. Though this hotel is right in the heart of Bergen, the street (and my room) was fairly quiet at night, something I sorely missed my fourth nights' stay at another hotel by the wharf - I wished in hindsignt that I had remained at this hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet, and the dining area was wonderfully quiet, with different seating if you wanted to be alone from the general crowd. I had a hard time getting coffee, though, at breakfast; leaving out multiple airpots of regular and decaf would have been a good idea for everyone to help themselves, but one morning there was no coffee anywhere, with people meandering the dining area holding empty coffee cups and pleading with staff to bring coffee. Nice but overwhelmed staff emerged single pots of coffee every 10-15 minutes, which were quickly emptied by the sleepy coffee mob lurking with their mugs. It appeared as if one single Bunn coffee maker was used to make coffee for everyone, which wasn't enough but ensured that if you were able to land a cup, it was fresh and good! Perhaps in-room coffee makers would help ease the demand of coffee on the dining staff. Still, the food was very nice and well-maintained by the kitchen. "Supert hotell, nær alt!"
Jeg har bare godt å si om First Hotel Marin. Det lå nær "alt" (gå ned en gate, og du er på Bryggen, gå opp en gate, og du kan sette deg rett inn på Fløybanen). Rommene var komfortable og fine (og billige), og frokosten var god. Jeg vil anbefale First Hotel Marin til alle som drar til Bergen!

Hotellet var fint og rent, og betjeningen var vennlig og hjelpsom. Restauranten var tom om kvelden, men serverte god middag. Til frokost var restauranten overfylt, og frokosten var ikke helt topp. Betjeningen sluttet å fylle på med mer mat lenge før den angitte frokostperioden var over. "dårlig rengjøring"
Fikk et rom som var meget skittent,masse støv og dritt.Fikk byttet rom av en hyggelig resepsjonist.Rommet vi fikk var mye bedre ,men det ser ut som om rommene er nedslitt. Frokosten var fin ,men det var så fullt at vi ble henvist til et konferanserom i nærheten av frokost rommet.Frister ikke til ny bestilling

"Lage sehr gut, Sauberkeit und Service ungenügend"
Standard und Service entsprechen keinesfalls einem Viersternehotel (Bsp. kein Zimmersafe, zu wenig Toilettenpapier). Der Boden des Zimmers war bei Ankunft nicht gereinigt und die Ablageflächen größtenteils von Flüssigkeitsresten verschmiert. Am zweiten Tag wurde etwas besser, aber auch nicht gut gereinigt. Das nicht abschaltbare Sauggeräusch der Klimaanlage […] ist sehr störend, insbesondere im fensterlosen Kinderzimmer. Das Frühstück kann nur als Katastrophe bezeichnet werden. Pročitajte više

"Hotell First Marin, Bergen"
Frokost: vente på ledig bord, manglende bestikk men grei enkel pålegg, sunn mat og godt brød. Ba om ekstra seng på rommet, stor velvillighet fra resepsjonen. Måtte mase litt ekstra for å få rom da vi ankom kl. 13.15(fikk beskjed om å vente til 15.00!) Fikk en slitt rom men veldig koselig og trivdes i 7.etg:)

Måtte betale 100 kroner timen ekstra for å sjekke ut kl 14. Det er jo greit,men sa da at jeg ikke vil forstyres.Fikk telefon på rommet kl 12.30 hvorfor jeg ikke hadde sjekket ut!!!!!!!

"First Hotel Marin"
hadde et flott helgeopphold på First Hotell i Bergen, alt var i en gåavstand fra hotellet, fløybanen, grieghallen og shoppings området, hotellansatte var hyggelige og vennlige, og prisene var overkommelige. neste gang vi skal til Bergen kommer vi nok til å ende opp på First Hotel Marin igjen.

Hotellet har tapt seg sterkt de siste årene. Vi har bodd på dette hotelle en rekke ganger tidligere, men det er nok siste gang. Baren stengt før kl 23 på kvelden. Frokosten var ikke bra. Lange køer til brød da alle må skjære opp sine egne brødskiver, smøret sto i en blokk med brøde slik at alle tar av det samme smøret. Varm mat står på egen buffet, […] men dette er ikke varmt. Vi spiste forkost kl 8, og resten av følge spiste kl 10. Forsatt kald mat. Hotellet var en gang veldig bra, men nå er det ett sterkt behov for oppgradering og forbedring. Beliggenheten er bra. Støvete og slite rom. Det må vere lege siden rommet var rengjort med tanke på støvtørking. Mye støv. Generelt slite inventar som trekker ned inntrykket av rommet og hotellet.

An der Rezeption arbeiten viele inkompetente Mitarbeiter, sie können auf einfachste Fragen keine Antworten geben. Sauna wir beworben, ist aber praktisch nicht anzuwenden, da Ruheraum/ Liegen oder sogar Stühle fehlen. Stühle im Speisesaal sind sehr dreckig. Zimmer sind ok.
"For liten konkurranse i Bergen?"
Generelt altfor dårlig levert av resepsjonen og standarden på rommet var langt under pari. Rot og liten evne til å yte etter forventet service-nivå satte standarden på oppholdet vårt. Etter å ha bli henvist til rommet i retning bort-og-til-høyre-bak-kaffetrakteren-og-mot-bakgården, ante vi ugler i mosen. Et rom innhyllet i stekt-fiskekake-lukt og et […] bad som gikk en bunkers fra 2. verdenskrig en høy gang ift. mugglukt ventet oss. I tillegg var rommet for lite til at enkelt-seng-prinsippet ikke fungerte. Etter en natt med fu-i-fang-oppsett (vel er vi gode kompiser) løp vi ned for litt frokost. Der var det heldigvis ingen store overraskelser. Vel på rommet igjen, etter en anmodning om nytt bosted, hadde rengjøringspersonalet prøvd å gjenskape det Bergen er mest kjent for: nemlig regn! Gulvene svømte i vaskevann :) Med en slik humoristisk start på dagen, forlangte vi nå nytt rom ved retur senere på dagen. Dette fikk da også omsider, men ikke uten kamp. Et nytt rom ventet, med normal standard og størrelse, slik at vi slapp å ligge fu-i-fang denne natten også. Så alt i alt kan jeg ikke anbefale dette hotellet til andre, før de eventuelt tar rev i seilene og innser hva de er. Pročitajte više

Beliggenheden er fin, nær centrum og havn. Tæt på seværdighederne. Vores værelse kunne dog godt trænge til lidt vedligeholdelse. Personalets service var ok. Kunne anbefale at grundetagen blev ombygget lidt med bedre siddearrangementer of evt. tv hjørne.
