Comfort Suites Newport - Newport

The hotel was in a great location and the beds were really comfortable! I loved the complimentary breakfast that looked out over the water. Their "thing" is being smoke free but our room smelled like smoke. Which was odd. But we didn't complain. I'm sure they would have switched our room because they were very helpful. The parking was really easy and […] they had a lot of great restaurants around that you could go to an get a special free item because you were staying at that hotel. My one complaint was the fitness center because the machines were horrible and the weights were lacking. HOWEVER you do get to use the awesome LA Fitness which is across the parking lot. I just did that - which really was a huge plus - but for the day I didn't have time to go there, a better fitness center (or just machines that worked correctly) would have been nice. Not sure why there are such high reviews. Room had a funky smell - and unless your room faces the river, the road noise is very apparent. And if you are booking with this website, they aren't going to swap you to a better room. I was stuck on the second floor with some young drunks who carried on until midnight. Will not stay again.

Great place to stay as we were passing through town. Service was great and it was the perfect location for us as we were heading to the Reds game. There is a shuttle stop right outside the hotel that runs every 15 minutes. It dropped us off right outside the stadium.

Would say great, EXCEPT the front desk was too busy flirting to pay attention. We were given the same room as strangers!!! 5 minutes after settling in our room , some guy walked right on in with his suitcase!! I called the desk and she laughed and said "Oh, you were supposed to have a different room, we gave you the wrong key." I did not laugh and said […] you need to fix this. Oh they fixed it alright, they deactivated ALL the keys to our room so even our key did not work!!! I called again and she said "oh, sorry". I'm glad I wasn't changing when this stranger with his buddies walked in!! The walls are like paper, I couldn't sleep because our neighbor was watching TV. We were in town to enjoy the Haufbrau House with friends. This hotel is within walking distance of the restaurant and many other attractions. We will definitely use this hotel in the future.

My wife and I stayed here because we were attending a concert in Cincinnati at US Bank Arena. Had the weather been better, we would have walked over the bridge to the concert. Overall, very good. Beds were great, room comfortable - I would call it a "mini-suite" since the rooms are normal sized but have a small couch/dinette table/chair in it - nevertheless, its a suite. We booked here because of the location, and hoped for comfort and got it.

Great location- within minutes of Newport on the Levee. Movies, dining, and other entertainment options are very close by! Also close to downtown Cincinnati. We made the trip for a night at the Hofbrauhaus and the football game, and the hotel was within walking distance of both. We had an excellent trip, Newport is a very friendly town, and the Comfort Suites was the perfect place to stay. The room was clean, staff were friendly and efficient, and the breakfast was better than the usual free breakfast.

A small problem checking in, had my name wrong. Not sure if that was an Expedia issue or was Comfort Suites, but problem was resolved quickly. I called ahead and asked for an early check in a month before check-in date. They said okay for that, we arrived an hour before the early check-in time, and it was no problem. It is a shame that the only hotel that offers river view rooms close to the attractions cannot retain quality personnel that caters to paying customers. The parking is odd and very inconvenient. Not the easiest place to pull in and out of. The room was sufficient, but there are other places that are better equipped and easier to get in and out of in the vicinity.

the hotel was very nice we would stay again .the breakfest was weak some of the beagles tasted old but other then that the stay was good . my sugestion would be work on the breakfest area thats what familys look for and we stay in the area at least 4 to 5 times a yr ( son goes to uc cinci )

Decent location, a bit noisy being located right next to a busy road. I would definitely recommend getting a room overlooking the river, that would have been much better. Good alternative vs. staying in downtown Cincinnati. Parking is a slight issue, but you'd have the same problem downtown Cincy.
