Hotel was great and well work the price, but the neighborhood is very bad. I decided to park on a nearby street to avoid guest parking fee. Car was broken into the 2nd night of my 2-day stay causing major damage as the thieves were attempting to steal it. Had to tow the car away. Not even a new car - it was a 10-year old Durango. The hotel was recently renovated in modern decor to the standards of Hilton and as such it is probably the best hotel deal for the money I have ever had. "Great for snow delays"
We booked this hotel for its proximity to the airport and 24-hour shuttle. As our flight was cancelled due to weather, the pool was greatly appreciated by our 11-year old. Trying to get back to Boston from Miami during the storm, the best we could do was Newark - booked this hotel mostly at random - arrived 1:30 a.m. to wonderfully comfortable bed and spacious, well-designed room. Had to overnight on trip to San Juan. Convienient location from airport. 24 hour shuttle service. Room was non-smoking. When we entered it smelled of cigarette smoke. We hd an overnight layover in Newark NJ. The shuttle came and picked us up at the airport and took us back the next morning. Getting the shuttle at the airport is tricky but that wasn't the hotel's fault. Room was wonderful as were the people. I would definately stay there again. The room was very full. I accepted a lot more. They also charge for everything. No free wifi, charge for parking and there's no refrigerator in the room. There's a $25 charge to rent one. "Just fine for an overnight stay before flight"
Our flight was canceled and we were forced to find a room. I grew up 5 miles from newark so I knew safety was paramount. The hotel is a fine oasis far away from the bad inner ciity. But it would have been great if there was a shuttle to the iron bound section. There are some amazing Portuguese restaurants there. However the Hotels restaurant was just […] fine. "Close, but oh so far!"
This (like all the others) hotel near EWR is clearly visible from the airport and the van does pick you up at P4, but the route through the tangle of freeways and access roads is comical and the surrounding landscape pretty grim.
