Hotel Beacon is located close to the 72nd subway station, making it easy to get to anywhere in Manhattan conveniently. The area is very safe and has a lot of great bars, restaurants, shops, coffee, etc. We loved it!

We stayed here with a family group for a special event. All the staff we met were very pleasant and courteous, four of us shared a 2 bedroom suite with a living room to relax in, the rooms were big and well maintained. Located next door to the Beacon Theater, which is extremely convenient, Central Park West (Strawberry Fields) and The Museum of Natural History are easy walking distances. However, it […] was a bit pricey and a bit dated. The bed was reasonably comfortable, the pillows less so. No matter what I set the heat to, it was 68 degrees and a bit too cool. The Gilchrist & Soames products were a pleasant treat found in a tiny bathroom which offered a very old shower. I like this hotel. Its slightly old fashion with super friendly staff. It has no pool or gym, but the tiny kitchenette in our suite was cute and useful, and the beds and furniture and appointments are tasteful and homey.

What a great place to stay, esp. if you want some room and the ability to fix your own meals. We had a studio with a kitchenette, and there's a terrific Fairway supermarket across the street, so you don't even have to schlep groceries very far. 72nd subway station is a skip away. They let us stay an extra hour and we didn't have to switch rooms on an additional night. Good location with fabulous deli across the road and delightful cafe behind. The staff were very helpful. Nice view from the 20th floor. Very close to Subway 72 and various buses. Woukd stay there again and recommend it.

Excellent hotel which is conveniently located close to a 'fast' subway line. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which was very spacious with 3 TV's and 2 bathrooms as well as a pullout sofa.

Pleasantly surprised at the amenities -- more space than usual in NYC hotel, enjoyed proximity of food market, restaurants, shops, subways. Nice to have a sitting room so local family could stop by. Kitchen facilities were a plus. Very clean, bed comfy, bath pristine. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We were very pleased with this hotel. Helpful and pleasant staff. This was our first time in New York and the Beacon lived up to all our expectations. Fast check in. The baggage/doormen assistants were very helpful not only with our bags but also with their knowledge of the surrounding area. The location of this hotel was excellent with the subway almost […] on the doorstep and just two stops away from Times Square. After out show on Broadway we back in our room in 25 minutes! Excellent store across the road with lovely fresh food that we could cook in our little kitchenette.. There are good cafes and restaurants close by. Central Park was only a couple of blocks walk away. Rooms were spotless clean and spacious with two beds, ample wardrobe space with safe. We spent four nights in New York at the Beacon Hotel. We had a quite large suite with a large sitting room, a large bedroom and a fullsize bathroom. After five weeks in European hotels we really appreciated the space.The decor throughout the hotel is understated and the facilities are very limited (no gym, no pool, no breakfast). Reception and porters […] got the job done but there were few smiles and limited rapport. Maintenance is also an issue. There were several small tthings in our room that should not have been that way. A door handle on the coat wardrobe was loose, the centre of a power point in the sitting room was loose and moved about if you tried to plug into it, there was an area the size of a tennis ball where the paint had flaked off the window sill, the coat hook behind the bathroom door had been moved and refixed without repainting the now exposed area and the tapwear in the bathroom was almost completely devoid of chrome. None of these things are terribly serious in their own right, but when you are paying the kind of prices asked by this hotel you are entitled to better. Pročitajte više

Very nice stay at Hotel Beacon. I had a nice 1 bedroom suite. Living room was good size with a decent view of Broadway. I was on the 4th floor but would have preferred to be on a higher floor for a better view. Fairview market is right across the street and you can get anything you need there. A cab ride downtown runs $20 and takes about 20 minutes. A subway ride downtown is less that $3.00 and can take over 30 minutes from the hotel. Never been to New York before so this was a bit of a lottery as to whether the hotel was good and in the appropriate place. Manhattan is vast so choosing a hotel to be the centre of everything is impossible. This hotel is located in the Upper West Side about 2 blocks from Central Park on Broadway. Broadway runs for miles so don't be fooled to think […] this hotel is in the middle of the theatre district as it isn't. This hotel is located, I think, about as north as you would want to stay in Manhattan but as you have access to an execellent subway, regardless of where you stay you aren't going to be too far away from the action. (In 5 minutes you can be in Times Square for example.) It is located in a somewhat high-class residential neighbourhood and one I would consider very safe. We walked the streets at night with no issues. Next block is Columbus Avenue with numerous restaurants. Central Park is a 5 minute walk bringing you out about one third of the way up Central Park. About a 2 minute walk to the nearest subway station. About a 5 minute walk to the Hudson River. As for the hotel... Comes with a kitchenette complete with sufficient utensils. Bedroom was clean, comfortable and very quiet. If you are looking for a hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square and the surrounding area then I would fully recommend this hotel and if we were to revisit then would return. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was fantastic, close to the Subway, Central Park, restaurants, Hudson River and Faiways Supermarket across the road. It is in a quieter location of New York and was always nice to come back to after a busy day sightseeing. Highly recommend it.
