We booked a room at the Knights Inn, Hagerstown on our way to Washington, DC. When we arrived, the entire motel smelled of curry and incredibly strong chemicals, but did not look clean. The room also smelled this way, but there were spiderwebs in the corners. The bed and sheets were at least clean, but also had that very strong chemical smell. I have […] asthma, so that and the curry scent made it very difficult to breathe. Also, the air in our room must not have been working because it was very muggy, and despite adjusting it, the air would not kick on. I was also very displeased that my card was charged before we even checked into the hotel. We have stayed at many, many hotels on our trips, and none have ever pre-charged for a room. I also called for directions because we could not find the motel on a mapquest or with the gps, and the clerk who answered the phone was very rude and condescending about where the hotel was.
