I had to travel to Cairo for a work related project and was happy to arrive at the Concorde which had a level of security that was comforting. As a woman traveling alone in Cairo during the political "storm", I felt very safe and sound in the hotel. Mind-bogglingly inept is how I'd describe the functioning and design of this hotel. From the bizarrely circuitous entry road to the incapacity of check-in to deal with an Expedia reservation (and I'm guessing that's true of any second-party internet reservation site). If you want a hotel as a quick overnight before heading out of CAI in the morning, […] this is adequate...almost. Try not to get a room that faces the pool because they have some dreadful band playing until midnight or so with a less-than-talented female Arab singer covered head to toe singing Justin Bieber songs etc. And very amplified so that you hear it even through the double sets of sliding glass doors. Check-in was a huge waste of time due to their incapacity to do anything efficiently -- forget quickly. And then they tell you to allow 30 minutes for their check-out procedure. Unbelievable in this day and age of automation! The restaurant staff smiles a lot, but with less than ten customers in the restaurant, it still took a village-sized staff more than 30 minutes to take our order and get some bread on the table. The food came later. It was at best serviceable. If a hotel wants overnight airport clients, they need to get effective and fast -- airport transfer clients don't want an experience, they want to NOT remember any hitches and get a good night's sleep! Staff was exceptional, they went out of there to make sure we had everything we needed. The life of the hotel was magnificent. The atmosphere was titillating. The Check in wasn’t enjoyable. The representative does not speak English fluently and the reservation information wasn’t accurate in their system. This makes our stayed uncomfortable since the non smoking room somehow smells like a smoking room. Regarding the room, we found a blood stain in the mattress cover; which is visible through the bead sheet; the soap holder was dirty with a yellow stain; the tub had some hairs; the big towels didn’t smell clean; and the sink didn’t drain properly. The Hotel was conviniently situated about 15 minutes away from the Airport. The Hotel was delightful in appearance and the staff were very helpful. Fantastic hotel! Got married while we were in Cairo and everyone was so kind to us. It is not an easy process to be married in Egypt. Everyone was helpful and all the staff recognized us and we felt like we were in our home away from home. The hotel was extremely clean, the friendly staff were always professional and helpful. It is ok for it is close to the airport. And some business areas like Nasr City, heliopolis. But not for the pyramits and the center Cairo. I believe they have more amenities than the center hotels like, a small horse riding facility, a wide garden, small but efficient spa.

I have also used several of the better known "top end" chains and would say that the Concorde beats them all on service, food quality, hotel environment and facilities. Upon request the hotel organized a person to meet us before passport control and a hotel car was waiting ready to pick us up.
