The only draw back was that we were supplied with a bath mat on the second day but other than that the stay was excellent.

The banquet meal was excellent! For a large group, the chicken was moist and tender and the beef was medium - rare and tender. Veggies were done right, not overcooked. Services was very friendly as well.

Elevator under construction so it was a little inconvenient because the remaining elevators were really slow, it's nothing grand but there's nothing wrong with it whatsoever. It's clean and cozy.

The location is perfect. Everything was walking distance. The room was very clean but the beds too small. The room we stayed in had door to the room next door. The people their were loud and noise came through the door. Other than that it was still good for the price.

The entire Hotel staff was so friendly. The beds were very large and comfortable. The view was AMAZING!

Hotel is going through a renovation. This did not affect our stay. The hotel is very nice and the service was great.

I was disappointed in our stay. Service was rude....woman that checked us in was rude and condescending, didn't speak very good English. Floor was noisy...doors slamming, kids screaming up and down the halls. Kids screaming in the pool. We prefer a quiter environment. Continental Breakfast in the morning very disappointing....it was part of our package, […] but they wanted to charge us....we ended up going to Starbucks. Probably won't stay here again, especially since there are many other places to choose from. Disappointing because we own a Marriott timeshare and the service is definitely different. The Monterey Marrriott offers an excellent location. The convention center, shops restaurants and a hosts of other attractions are all within walking distance of this hotel. The service is thoughtful. Currently this hotel is in the midst of renovation of tis rooms. Nevertheless they were able to provide me with a quiet room on a floor that is being […] renovated. Was a nice stay and pleasant experience. Staff was friendly expect for the woman who took the room service order ( it would help for her to be reminded that she is in the SERVICE industry!). The only drawback that we had was that there was construction taking place and that effected the elevators. Other than that it was a nice stay.

The room was dated and small, no amenities within the room. Construction was going on inside the building, and on Thanksgiving day, and when the reservations were made, no one let me know that there would be construction going on, but do to the fact it was Thanksgiving weekend, we were forced to stay at this dump. There was no refrigerator, no microwave, […] the towels were old and hard and the shower head did not work properly and leaked water all over the bathroom floor. I was charged for an animal that I did not bring into my room for overnight stay, and was told that the valet service was free, but I was charged for that as well. All-in-all I was charged for an extra $115.00 dollars worth of fees that I should not have been charged for. When we asked the maid for softer towels, she was not able to understand our request due to the lack of, or inability to speak English. We would not recommend this Hotel to anyone, and will put it on the business and CCPOA union web site as a "non-recommendation". Pročitajte više

Very nice hotel within walking distance from Cannery Row and Fishermen's Wharf and at very reasonable price compared to other hotels in Monterey. Staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel has heated swimming pool, hot tub and a small gym. It’s the second time I’m staying at this hotel and would go there again.

Just went for 1 night. Even though the hotel was being remodeled the condition of the room and hotel was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. It was a very nice stay. The location was right downtown which made it convenient for our planned activity.

Overall, we liked the Hotel, although it is a bit older, but our vehicle suffered a major ding in the valet parking lot which the attendant did not mention to us. We didn't realize this until after we arrived home but we pretty sure we did not run into a concrete pillar on the freeway trip home. The hotel was ok.... I was a little annoyed by the lady that checked me in .. she was a little short and rude.. and then tried to make up for it by sending us a bottle of Champagne. I told her 3 times the hotel room was in my name and I paid for it and she still would not let me check in till she spoke with him... I was amazed. The hotel location is great, but the hotel isn't that fancy. The room definitively felt old and stuffy. They have 2 bottles of water out near the bed, but they charge $3.50 per bottle! The wifi isn't free and very expensive at $15 a night!

Simply not worth the money - 4 star prices for 2 star accomodations. Some issues I had during my stay: 1) cleanliness - clearly no one vacuumed. Toenail clippings on the floor, hair from previous guest grossed me out 2) bathroom vanity is part of the main room, can't get ready without light disturbing others 3) reserved a king but got two fulls 4) […] bathroom products were cheap - expect more from a Marriott 5) the tap water is undrinkable, smells terrible 6) in-room TVs cannot handle HD channels - watching an HD movie was impossible because it can't handle the motion - the image was all choppy whenver there was movement on the screen. We really loved most things about this hotel. The proximity to the water and nearby attractions was excellent. The downstairs bar was surprisingly good, and the bartender was friendly and attentive. I do, however, have a few issues. For the price that we paid for our room, I was surprised at how much they nickel and dime you on every little thing. […] The bottles of water in the room were $3.50 for goodness sake. There were charges for amenities that even the cheapest of motels normally include. Next, when we arrived in our room, the inner bathroom area had clearly not been cleaned, so I did throw a towel on the floor and do a quick rub down. Last but not least, we had called down to ask for a recommended taxi company and the lady was rude, but said she'd call for us. When we came down, we waited for ten minutes and then inquired. Nobody had called and we ended up being late for our reservations. Not a huge deal, but frustrating. I sound like I'm picking them apart, but honestly, I'd come back in a heart beat. We walked everywhere our whole trip, the bed was extremely comfortable and the prices were reasonable for the area. I highly recommend Lou Lou's griddle in the middle for breakfast, Schooners for dinner, and the bar downstairs for a quick bite or drink. Great choice, you won't regret!! Pročitajte više

Breakfast is expensive ($20/person for the full buffet) and there is $20/day valet parking which was an added expense. However it was a very classy hotel that is walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf which was really nice.
