The room was set up very nicely, little area for kitchen, couch tv. then the bedroom, private. But the bathroom smelled of mildew... carpet was moist like, nasty. "Great location for family getaway"
My family loves the location of this hotel. It's 20 to 30 minutes from sea world, san diego zoo and wild animal park. It's 5 minutes from LEGOLAND and you can walk to the beach. "Family Weekend Getaway to Carlsbad-Legoland"
We rented 2 rooms for our family including 4 young grandchildren for a weekend in Carlsbad to visit Legoland. After spending the day at Legoland we did not want to go out for dinner so we called a Pizza place and they delivered our meal right to our hotel door. The hotel is conveniently located near Legoland, very close to a fantastic Ralphs supermarket, […] about a mile away from PlayWerkx, which the grandkids loved, and close to the beach. The hotel room was nice and clean and comfortable. It had a kitchenette, a front room with a couch, and separate bedroom with two beds. We had a TV in each room. The beds were very comfortable, and we really liked having the kitchenette. The hotel has a very nice sized swimming pool and jacuzzi. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. There were all sorts of cereals, breads, muffins, pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juices, and fresh made waffles. We wish the breakfast time would end at 11 a.m. instead of 10, but it was super nice and convenient that we didn't have to cart the kids off to a restaurant for breakfast. The hotel is definitely family friendly, and the price for the rooms was very affordable. If you travel with children younger than 5, best to request a first level room. The hotel looks good from the outside and good in the inside. I really enjoyed the heated pool. I didn't like that I had to call to get my room clean daily, but once I did, they came daily. The breakfast was a little above average. The location of the hotel was not convenient, there is not enough food place nearby and we had to drive every time we need […] it to get something. "good location for a two-day business trip"
The hotel staff was friendly and the rate included continental breakfast that included waffles and oatmeal plus the yogurts, bagels, etc. We only paid $65.00 a night, including taxes. We were just west of the I-5, but we didn't hear any freeway noise at night. In the morning there was a whizzing sound of the cars commuting to San Diego, but it didn't […] wake us up. "Pack and Play"
When I booked my room I requested a pack and play and I called requesting one. Upon check in I asked for one and the guy at the front desk said one would be delivered shortly. After 30 mins I called the front desk asking if they could just leave the pack and play in the room. I was informed that there wasn't a pack and play available would I like sheets […] for the floor. After venturing to the front desk to find out what happened I was informed that the guy didn't believe that all the pack and plays were out and he would go look for one and let us know. After an hour I went back to the front desk to be informed that the pack and plays that weren't being used were being washed and that we would have one tomorrow for sure. The next day came and went and we didn't receive a pack and play and we didn't hear from the front desk explainging why we didn't have one. On our third day in the hotel my boyfriend went to get towels fromt he front desk and was asked if we got the pack and play. He told him that we hadn't but the floor was working out ok. I feel that the customer service and lack of communication about the pack and play was terrible. I know everything worked out ok with my son sleeping on the floor but I was definately not impressed with why we didn't receive a pack and play and how it took them 3 days to check to see if we had one. Pleasant stay that served our needs. Could have used some hotter water in the shower and the bed was a bit soft for our taste. Breakfast was good and the rooms and grounds were well kept. Originally I wanted to stay at another hotel because of ratings but my brother convinced me to stay here. It was actually one of the better hotels I have stayed at. There was a "living room" area and a separate "bedroom" area. We enjoyed having a small kitchenette area. Nice comfortable hotel. We booked a suite and enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast was good with hot waffles and the other regular stuff. The hotel is just 5-10 minutes away from Legoland and 30-45 mins from Seaworld. The beaches are very near and so a great location. We had the double bed suite room with a full kitchen. It was a bit outdated where the appliances were concerned. But being that we were really there to just sleep it was fine. We booked this hotel for a family vacation to Legoland. The location and service were great. My only criticism is that, when I was online looking at the room it stated there were two doubles and a sofa bed (perfect for my family of seven), when we arrived, it was one double and a sofa bed. On my second night stay, found out there was no bath towel in room, I called the front desk, telling them we have two adults but have only two small towels, no bath towels, he replied "We can do nothing, you have to wait for next morning.". Later, I found a not in the bath room saying "Swimming pool towels are available at the front desk, do not remove […] towel from this room.". "EXCELLENT VALUE FOR THE ROOM"
Could not beat the price anywhere. room was clean, they had an elevator (since I'm presently handicapped). Close to everything. Close to grocery store. Breakfast was nice, considering this is a discount motel. Could not ask for more. Not for what we paid. Now if you're uber picky, yes the room is small, the a/c hits the poor sap that has to sleep on […] that side, it's noisy from the freeway and from the guests and kids down at the pool, even up on the 3rd floor. Booked this hotel last minute for a trip to LegoLand. We arrived around 11:30pm and check in went smootly. Hotel was nice...what you expect. Free breakfast... waffle makers were always busy though.... My wife and 2 young boys stayed in a 1 Queen suite with a pull out sofa (for the kids) This worked out great for us. I really like the seperation for […] the kids. Plus they can watch cartoons on their side and we can watch CNN on our TV. I would stay here again. Our room also had a full kitchen (stove, microwave, sink, fridge) which was very outdated, but who cares... we didn't use it. There was a large outdoor pool and a hot-tub. Parents... don't look to relax in the hottub... it was filled with kids just an FYI. This is an absoulute family hotel great for kids. (The door lock keycard readers need to be replaced... they were very hard to get to unlock) -Also we bought discounted LegoLand tix (saved about $15/ticket) from the front desk. The ladies at the front counter ate amazing, room was very clean, location was perfect sits right by the sea, food and stores right down the street, continental breakfast was great will stay there over and over HIGHLY recommend this place.
