My friend and I were in Newark for 6 days. Staying in Wyndham was a pleasant one. The staff were friendly and always ready to help when we are in need of help. The rooms were great. The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. They changed our room once, then when the TV didn't work they told me, they change rooms not TV's. We denied moving a second time. My stay was great i had a room on the fisrt floor it was quiet clean and well kept. I would not recommend eating at the hotel it seemed to be a little over priced but the staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly check in and out was quick and painless. The location was fairly easy to get to with the help of a gps friendly location which […] was th hotel behind them but never the less it was simple to get to. For the price, one cannot go too terribly wrong by choosing the Wyndham Garden Newark Airport. The location is nearby to the airport, and the hotel shuttle can be depended upon. The hotel is starting to show its age a bit, but nothing major. The park and ride service is great. Cheaper to stay the night and leave your car than to pay for off airport parking. Shuttle in early am was great. Only problem was on the return; they only had one shuttle bus running. "Good standard hotel for travelers."
Good, basic fare..... as usual. Location is great. It is near everything (by car) and parking is free and secure, however make sure you get a room facing the courtyard as the highway traffic (75 yards away) and air traffic can be disturbing. I stay here every time I come up to NYC on business since I can park my truck and not worry about expensive tools, […] etc. The hotel has a decent little restaurant and convenience store but venturing out is a project and knowledge of the confusing airport access roads is a big plus (e.g. making a U-turn if you are traveling northbound on Rte. 1-9 is a confusing, major hassle. The bus from the airport was a 30 minute delay. Aparently there was only one bus running. I saw at least 3 buses from Hilton/Holiday Inn - basically all of your rivals during that time. I was tired, hungry and it was late. My flihgt had been cancelled and i wasn't happy to see all the other buses and not a Wyndham. I probably won't use you next trip. "Close to airport but shuttle bus driver unfriendly"
I unexpectedly ended up staying at this hotel due to the recent snowstorm and being stranded for 2 days. Hotel was clean and hotel service was good; however, the shuttle bus driver was unkind. He did not ask which airline I was going to take and I did not know which terminal I was supposed to get off. He passed my terminal but did not go back and just […] told me to take the monorail which was not running frequently due to the snowstorm. I guess that Wyndham Garden would not own this hotel building from the beginning and the previous hotel owner would be different, compared with another Wyndham Garden Hotels. The building looked old, but the amenities in the room were nice. However, the fan in the room was so noisy and it waked me up many times after sleeping. This fan might have come from the original, old building structure, which Wyndham Garden owner may not have removed or changed. Our heating and air-conditioning system are controlled by the wall thermostat. The Wyndham Garden Hotel Newark conducted a soft- renovation in 2009 and every year freshens up the guestrooms and public space.
