Rydges Melbourne Hotel - Melbourne

Stayed at Rydges 6 nights during my business trip. Web description is nice but the reality a bit different. Apart from reception area the hotel feels very old with no maitenance. Room was dark, bathroom too small, paper holders blocking the WC seat. Air heater full of dust, noisy and impossible to change fan speed (some issue with A/H). Toilet has not […] been cleaned properly ! Missing paint on the doors. WHEN I OPEN THE FRIDGE I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT - fridge full of standing yellow/grey smelly water !! I reported it to the reception in the morning, when I came back in the afternoon my bed was was done, towels changed but the fridge still NOT CLEANED ! Changed the room. The same issue with A/H - dirty and noisy. 3 different lifts = 3 different clock setting, even the date wrong. Seems like nobody really care about details. Breakfast OK but overpriced. And the fee for internet access ? Is it a joke in 21st century ? Luckily I used my mobile phone for internet connection. Location is fine, convenient distance to CBD and other attractions. I had an excellent stay, a wonderful experience staying at the Rydges Melbourne Hotel.i will certainly be coming back to this hotel. The rooms were clean, the hotel is situated in a great location in the centre of Melbourne. Thank you

The rydges hotel overall was a good experience, however a bit noisy at night while trying to rest.the staff were very friendly and professional! It can get too crowded over weekends with lots of families! The buffet breakfast was average! If its for a night or two I would recommend this hotel!

Convenient for access to the city and all that entails. Parking is very limited and requires you to give up your keys for the attendants so best to empty your car of valuables if you are paranoid(or to limit temptation perhaps). Loved the size of the room, the presentation and the views from the room. The only thing that is a let down is that there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom and the shower had grime and mould on the grouting and the metal frame of the shower cubicle.

Good large rooms with good facilities. Fitout is getting a bit tired, but good value for money.

Great location, could walk to most things including shops, bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside, there were 3 of us in our room and it was a bit squishy!

The hotel is a good location and accessible to many places for my stay. The staff and services are courteous and helpful to all my needs.

young staff very friendly and helpful but air conditioning was confusing. individual units each room, and controls were very hard to operate, with no opearating manual. room was very hot first night and couldn't change as no maintenance on duty

Don't stay here - the lights in the room didn't work, coffee cups were filthy with old dried up coffee & milk, room service hung up twice before they even answered the phone (avoiding taking room service orders I presume), the cleaners do not replenish your toiletries (needed a shower cap, had to wait 2 days for it even after reporting it), bathtub […] - I had to wash it before I could shower as it was dirty, waiter's friend (wine opener) had some food matter that had gone green all over it (unclean), swimming pool bathrooms were grotty, fitness equipment sub-standard & some not in working order, room key doesn't give access to pool area, front desk reception unfriendly & unhelpful, location of hotel isn't that great - a little far from the main Melbourne CBD action & transport. Better of closer to Bourke St Mall or on Swanston St - Mercure Hotel & Citidines Apartments were better located. I reported all my issues over 3 days to front desk staff but nothing changed. When we arrived sunday morning there was onlyi check in staff on desk. We chose Rydges because it was close to MCG and CBD. Wewere late for our football match. We had top floor room which was very clean & comfortable. BUT the shower was terrible...Water pressure was terrible, and had to wait 10 mins for hot water, without using cold....Breakfast was […] $30 per head, whjich we felt was very expensive....Service was excellent, and can't falter that. Great location, comfy bed & quiet room

Was in Melbourne for a conference and everything was quite expensive. I wanted a quality hotel, but was looking for value... This scratched every itch. Affordable, quality, great service, great mini bar etc - everything I needed and was walking distance to everything I was wanting to do and see.

Excellent service and very comfortable bed. Facilities good and has good bar and restaurant. Handy location to theatres and restaurants and easy to get to as continuation of Batman Ave exit from Citylink.

Good location staff very helpful

The hotel was great, deal we got well worth it and close to everything, particularly the theatre district.

My wife and I celebrated our 15th wedding aniversary and were extremly suprised with our room and pleased with the reasturant for dinner.Great loacation near China town. loved it will go again for sure!!!

I rang to see what happened to our free bottle of wine with the package the duty manager was rude, told me she know nothing unless i can proved it and hang up on me, we had to go down to reception ourself and show her my mobile with the reference even then she told us it was not part of the deal but will give us the wine but it is just the way she asked.. […] so what wine do you want red or wine... there were no sorry or thank you very upsetting especially it was my husband 60th birthday... very disappointed and upswetting Pročitajte više

While the location and bedrooms of the Rydges Melbourne on Exhibition are fine, the bathrooms are the tiniest I have encountered. Actual measurement 5'5" x 5'11" (165 x 180 cm) meant there was no tub, only a curtained shower corner. The door had to be fully shut and the toilet angled 45 degrees just to use it. No vanity at all to hold toiletries. Worst […] of all were the "incidental charges." The highest internet access rates I have seen anywhere in the world: $29 for anything 38 minutes total use or longer! And I was charged $21 to make a 4.5 minute local call for which the hotel paid less than $1. While the rooms may seem reasonable value, the minuscule bathrooms and the outrageous telephone/internet charges make this property far more costly than it appears. smaller rooms than other Ridges. Staff was friendly but not as professional or together as in Sydney Ridges. Rooms were not quite as nice as expected.

Warm and efficient welcome on arrival - and our room was ready even though it was only 8.30 am. Room was modern, reasonably spacious and clean. Hotel centrally situated in CBD.

Rydges Melbourne was situated in the perfect location for our first trip to Melbourne. We were within walking distance of everything (except for a quick cab ride to Lygon St) and did not need to rent a vehicle. They offer 24 hour room service, which was a welcomed surprise! Hotellet ligger lättillgängligt med spårvagn raka vägen på andra sidan Central Business District från Southern Cross dit bussarna från flygplatsen går. Finns nog gratis anslutningsflygbuss också om man kommer innan kl 21 (vilket inte jag gjorde). Hotellet är fräscht och trevligt. Internet på hotellet är dock svindyrt med en taxa på 0,75 cent per minut […] (ca 5 kr/minuten) (max 29 dollar om dagen). Betydligt mycket billigare att gå till Hungry Jacks något kvarter bort om man vill använda sig av internet en stund. Finns även gratisinternet via Wifi på flera ställen i stan. Frukosten ingick inte i mitt pris så den testade jag aldrig. Fanns ingen separat duschtvål på hotellet heller utan bara förpackningar med schampoo och balsam samt en hudlotion. Half of the staff was really unfriendly! Internet cost 30 dollar per person in the room per day! Checkin 2 pm, checkout 11 am???? WHY??? We had to pay for un extra day because we were one our late with our checkout. I would never recommend this hotel ever.
