The hotel was clean, my room was clean, liked the decor. The front desk was very helpful with helping me get some urgent business services (printing, scanning etc.) done. On my last morning I had a disappointing pexperience that left a bad taste. I wanted a quick breakfast, just 2 eggs, toast and a coffee. After 10 minutes of back and forth with the […] restaurant manager, waitresses, they came back to say they could do it. I said great, how much? They made up a cost of SGD50! SGD10 just for a tiny cup of coffee. I cancelled the order and told the restaurant manager he had to be kidding, but he didn't give a hoot, just said something like 'well that's why I tried to tell you to take the buffet' - very snotty attitude. Stayed in Pan Pacific Orchard for 5 nights and very happy with our stay. Large rooms with king size beds which were really comfy with crisp bed linens. Nespresso machine in room....nice little touch. Check in was fast and smooth with all the data being accurate. Front office / desk personnel was polite and courteous. Very impressed with the level of service here. Rooms were clean and nice with the amenities at hand. For a frequent traveler, this is definitely one of my considerations in the future.

The only thing I found disappointing about our room was that the mattress was sooooo hard. After the first nights sleep I woke up feeling incredibly sore. So perhaps changing the mattresses more frequently might help. The Lounge staff were absolutely amazing and could not do enough for you.

Hotel is fine but I'm unhappy about the way the hotel takes a $500 deposit to cover your potential charges. I understand they need to cover themselves against people trying to leave without paying, but having an impression of the card is surely sufficient to enable any unpaid charges to be recovered. Clearly I cant get into the hotel without accepting the deposit but it was then a constraint on my spending as the bank was concerned about my overdraft limit given we had been travelling for well over a month. My first impression was very clean and modern with emphasis on customer comfort. I can joyfully say that I never tired of the staff's smiling faces and courtesies. The food was awesome and the staff was pleasantly accommodating. Pan Pacific will be my first choice of hotels in the Orchard area. That said, there are two comments regarding my stay that […] I am compelled to share. 1. In the early afternoon, I returned to my room to collect my camera for some local site seeing. When I arrived I found the cleaning staff was busy tiddying up my room. I barged in excusing myself and promising to only be a moment. To my surprise, the cleaning lady politely asked to see my room key. I did, she smiled, thanked me and returned my keycard. Suddenly, I realized that she was confirming that was the rightful occupant of the room. This gave me that warm, fuzzy feeling, that even the cleaning staff was empowered to maintain the security of my room. This impressed me so much, that I have logged Pan Pacific into my retinue of regular-hotels. 2. I stayed on the 11th floor, in what I think was a either Premium or Club room. I was surprised to find that the TV in my room was a 20", black-and-white model. Honestly, I didn't know they still existed in this day and age. Considering the class of the hotel, I was surprised at first and taken back by a little nostalgia as well. Maybe it was fluke. I've stayed at the marina pan pacific regularly and thought that I'd give this orchard location a try. I will not be back. Room - very simplistic and I can't believe that they still use a CRT tv. I've stayed in a few hotels and this was my third trip to Singapore. The location is not great. It's across the other side of Orchard and difficult to get to the main area. For the price it's better to get a good location which was my mistake from not looking at the map closely. From check in to check out, it was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The staff were professional andfriendly. The club room was huge and well appointed and all club amenities were easy to access. The close proxemity to Orchard Road was a bonus - overall very satisfied and would not hesitate to stay at this property again.

Cable in the room was expensive and no wireless in the rooms - poor considering number of iPad users. "Free" wireless in the lobby was denied because of my "package". What a load of rot. Will not stay at a Pan Pacific again.

The reception at the hotel was pleasant, I arrived after the check-out time and assumed a room would be ready very quick but ended up waiting for almost half an hour for my room with not even a drink offered while we sat in the lounge area. I even saw a couple that were before me left to look for other hotel due to the long wait. Nothing was offered […] to apologise for the long wait (not even a complimentary fruit basket or a room upgrade) -Upon arriving on the room level, the housekeeper was just finishing up cleaning the room. The room was cleaned and I find it rather small, with a small flatscreen attached on the wall right in front of the bed. We felt it was not really worth the money we paid for the room. There was a construction ongoing right beside the hotel but with minimal disturbance ( I believed it's the Thai Embassy building). -Location is great but the surrounding is not. The walk to Orchard Road is short but when my mother and I walked back to the hotel in the evening, we had to pass by an old building with dodgy karaoke/bars and quite some numbers of ladies scantily dressed, standing by the streets. We found it rather uncomfortable to walk through there to get to the hotel. They shared idea about serving their customer by surprising traveler in many approaches from sending a daily letter to saying hello to their guests. I felt like my home there. Great hotel that is at the epicenter of one of the districts where prostitution was legalized by the Singapore government. Hotel access cards were faulty and had to change it. The Pacific club room (upgrade to executive) is impressive. Bed is comfortable. Movable flat screen TV with international channels, however, to my disappointment, there isn't animal planet channel. Bathroom is spacious. A uniquely designed bath tub and a glass shower cubicle. There was no problem checking in, the lady who checked our booking was so warm in welcoming their guests. She is so efficient. When we said we are going to universal studios, she made the booking right away. The lobby is nice though lacks centerpiece to make the ambience luxurious. The hotel room that we booked was executive club king and non-smoking. […] With this part, I was annoyed a bit with the ff reasons: FIRST, because the smell was awful...it was like somebody was smoking near, somewhere. We really couldn't stand the smell of the cigarette smoke! The one who cleaned the room should have informed the front desk that the non smoking room has a problem. We didn't go to our room right away anyway, so they have plenty of time to solve the problem...if only the staff in charge had used his mind before we noticed it. SECOND, the one at the front desk wanted to spray air freshener all over the room to mask the odor. When we didn't agree on their suggestion, they told us to use the burner to cover up the smell...same thing! I don't know what kind of service they have. They are not after the guest's comfort I guess...some of them just do their job without loving what they do, and without knowing what a five star hotel service is. THIRD, the fruit basket that was supposed to be included to the room that i booked wasn't there. It was in the first room so we asked the butler to please bring it to the new room. we left then we returned but there was no fruit basket. we even had to remind the desk that we need the fruits before going to bed, it is actually part of our day that's why it's important. So, they brought it to our room after a while. (don't look fresh...) Swimming pool is clean, enough shade to avoid too much sun exposure. Buffet breakfast is good. Not all are friendly, though. Egg omelet is special, my husband loved it. We were so impressed with this hotel- great value for money for Singapore considering its fantastic quality. The staff were friendly, welcoming and genuine. Club level amenities were fantastic (including free laundry and internet). We stayed in the suite which was very pretty with heaps of room. We will definately stay here next time.
