nice reception, pool is ok but sun only till like 3pm, bit oldish somewhat but can recommend it to anybody - location is good; close to Hamra road with many shops and cafes

The only good thing in the location is that it is near Alhamra street, otherwise the surroundings of the hotel building is very bad. in other word keep your room curtains closed you will feel more confortable. the staff are like most libanies helpfull. Very bad wifi internet.

The hotel is hardly 4 stars not 5. Room was not clean and we found a bed bug on the curtain we had to move to another room. The hotel in general is old, Will not stay there again.

If it wasn't for the very friendly staff I would have moved to a different hotel. Rooms are worn out we found a cockroach one morning next to the bathroom. Their towels are completely worn out. The cleaning staff were very cooperative and on demand but their hard work goes to waste with the fact that the rooms are worn out.

The room was clean and the furnitures is new. Air condition is good, but there was too humidity. Bathroom was very large and comfortable. Someday the room wasn't cleaned so properly. Breakfast was poor, definitely not worth 20 $. Pool is nice. In the end, a very comfortable hotel, though more like a 4/4.5 stars than a 5 stars hotel.

This hotel used to be excellent a long time ago but it is now dated. It needs a major rehab to be able to compete well for upscale business. Everything in it is old and a few things were non functional such as the safe that was replaced for me, and the telephone where i was not able to retrieve my voice messages. The furniture has nicks and cracks. […] Now for the good side, it is right in the middle of the center of the city, Ras Beirut, with close proximity and walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and pubs. It is clean, very reasonably priced, and very economical. It has 2 restaurants that serve excellent food. The staff is very courteous, friendly and helpful. You will not be in the lap of luxury, and does certainly not deserve a 5 star rating as it is listed on Expedia. I would give it a 4. In all, my stay there was pleasant. The hotel was in a great neighborhood within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. It was a quick cab ride from other Beirut destinations, and about half an hour from locations in the mountains. The hotel is old, but has been refurbished well. The staff are amazingly polite, friendly, and fluent in multiple languages. The room was quiet, well appointed, very clean, and many closets. Amazing location, 1 minute walking to Alhamra main St... very nice shops, cafes ... Carinbue Cafe (Free wifi), Starbucks ... few minutes walk to Kaiten Sushi Conveyor and to a local fast-food restaurants named BarBar .

Nice intentions by staff. But tired and needs a re-fit big time. Good location. Value for money. Possibly my expectations were too high with 5 star and ex-Le Meridien. Staff did their best but felt a bit short. Only average rating from me.

IT is a good hotel with freindly staff. The rooms are clean and the beds were quite comfortable and nicely made. Although the rooms do need to be updated as there are some small nicks and chips in the furniture. Our view was not so great as we were looking across to an apartment building with locals. But this is the atmosphere of the Hamra area. IT […] is an exciting bustling area and I enjoyed staying here. The area is close to the American University of Beirut and is a great place to shope. They have a lot of shops with deals much better than the souk area which is quite pricey. I also noticed some antique shops in the area. One piece of advice if you need a taxi don't ask the hotel to arrange it for you as their prices seem to be double. The only grumble I have is that the daily clean was not very thorough. The internet was not included and was rather expensive, but one can go down to the corner and sit at Caribou Coffee and use theirs. This was my only complaint. I spent two happy days and nights in this "famous" hotel.

Otel Hamra'da olup, Hamra Beyrut'ta iç savaş öncesi şehir merkezidir. Yavaş yavaş popülaritesini yitirmektedir. Yeni şehir merkezine ise yürüyerek yaklaşık 30 dk, araç ile 10 dakika mesafede. Herhangi bir toplu taşıma bulunmadığı için ulaşım taksi ile sağlanmalıdır. Ancak taksi fiyatları Beyrut'ta oldukça ucuzdur.

Il commodore non merita 5 stelle,e' un po'vecchiotto,la reception e' molto mediocre poiche il personale cambia sempre e non e' all'altezza di un grande albergo. I barman sono giovani e inesperti. Il nostro riscaldamento in camera andava a manetta e abbiamo dovuto dormire con la finestra aperta tanto faceva caldo e l'atmosfera pesante.

LE commodore - nie wieder! Ich hatte unhandliches Sportgepäck dabei, die Bellboys standen herum und halfen nicht beim Ausladen. Check-in war ok. Das Zimmer war im 6.Stock mit Blick auf die gegenüberliegenden Häuser. Der Fußboden im Zimmer ist aus PVC und mit irgendeinem Reiniger gereinigt, der sehr schmierig bleibt. Barfuß - bloß nicht. Das Bett ist […] ok, der Fernseher klein und alt. Das Bad war dunkel, zudem war noch eine Lampe kaputt. Die Dusche nur mit einem Vorhang getrennt - beim Duschen steht das Bad unter Wasser. Am nächsten Morgen Frühstück: Zeit: 06:00 -10:30 Massen am Buffett. Der Raum ist viel zu klein und dadurch ohrenbetäubend laut. Zwar sind Tische als Nichtraucher gekennzeichnet, aber viele Gäste rauchen trotzdem. Den Kellnern ist das egal. Überforderte Kellner überall. Wenn Käse- oder Wurstplatten leer sind wird ab 10 Uhr nicht mehr nachgelegt. Ist eben leer. Der Eierkoch ist unmotiviert, läßt anbrennen und achtet nicht auf den Wunsch der Gäste. Der Pool ist megagechlort. Es brennt richtig auf der Haut. Zum Duschen ab in den Keller neben der Toilette. Geräuschbelastung duch den Verkehr den ganzen Tag. Das Check-out dauerte 30 min. Kein Wechselgeld in Dollar möglich. Libanese Pound ja, aber dann zum exorbitanten Kurs. Kein Change - Khallas. Bellboy Hilfe: Fehlanzeige - sie unterhielten sich mit Leuten auf der Straße. Wat een geweldige stad en aardige mensen. Het eten is erg lekker. Ga een kijkje nemen bij La Plache bij de boulevard. Zeker een aanrader met zonsondergang. Over het nachtleven kan ik een ding zeggen. Ze weten hoe ze een feestje moeten bouwen. Hou vooral de feesten van het radiostation Mix FM in de gaten. Zij halen grote dj's naar Beirut.
