Travel Inn Hotel - New York

We had a nice clean room. There was no drawer space to put our clothes but that was probably because we only booked one night. We've had longer stays with plenty of drawer space. Love the free parking and the Hotel is a great bargain that's right in the heart of midtown.

The room was nice with 2 beds non-smoking. Our room had a microwave and an 8 cu ft apartment refrigerator which was nice to store our water and soft drinks and heating up our breakfast rolls in the morning. We had an air condition in our room too. Some rooms don't have these amenities. I had to get used to the narrow rectangular bathroom and the hot […] and cold water faucets turned in the opposite direction to turn on or off water as ours do at home. Free parking for guest is always nice. The room attendant was excellent cleaning our room and refreshing our sheets and towels everyday. The front desk gentleman was a little rude and could have been better in handling guests needs and questions. The women were pleasant, helpful and nice. Overall, the stay was nice at the price we got our room. I wouldn't pay anything higher because of the noise factor. You could hear everyone walking or talking outside our door. My stay was very good. I was pleased with the room, location and service. I would definitely go back there. My only comment/ suggestion is: when guests do not have a vehicle (parking is included in price of the room) provide them free WiFi. I did not have a vehicle so was a bit frustrated that I had to pay $6.00/day for WiFi. Location of the Travel Inn Hotel was wonderful! Close walk to Times Square... about 10-15 minutes. Safe neighborhood. Free parking! Hotel is right near the Lincoln Tunnels so very convenient if you're driving in and out of the city! Would definitely go back. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Decor is a little outdated but room was VERY clean!

It is NYC, so expect it to be cozy, not spacious. Bathroom is tight, bed space is fine, temp is too hot and you cannot adjust it other than opening the window to traffic. I was only there for one night following my coordination of a very grueling fundraising event. I was exhausted and just wanted to get some rest. The Hotel booked field trip students on my floor and on the floors above and below. They were very loud and exhibited obnoxious behavior that's very typical of teenagers - screaming, banging doors, running […] through the halls, banging on the elevator doors and my room was directly across from the elevators. No supervision was evident. Security wasn't sent to calm them down until I called the front desk 3 times to complain after 1 1/2 hours of this behavior at 11:30 pm. This hotel is close to everything, a short walk to the best part of Fifth Avenue, to Central Park, to the MoMa, and at the same time, close to Columbus Circle, and the Theater District. Although there is plenty of hot water, it tends to come and go sometimes if someone else on your same line is taking a shower too. Our suite had a large living room […] and what they call a kitchenette, but it only contains a microwave, a refrigerator and a coffee pot. No toaster or mini oven for a grilled sandwich, no blender, no cutlery, no dishes, so to me it does not qualify as a kitchenette, and should not be advertised as such. The person that tried to sleep in the living room couch could not sleep because it sagged in the middle and the springs were hurting her back. We called the next morning and in no time at al they brought up a rollaway and were very pleasant about it. The beds, including the rollaway, were very comfortable and there were a lot of pillows available. We had a large flat screen TV. Although a only basic hotel, this is unbeatable for the price and location. With inclusive parking you can leave the car on-site and walk/bus to anywhere you need to go.

Although the room appeared to be clean and tidy, we found a cockroach on the carpet. We gave it to the desk clerk and got a room change. We considered this as an incident, because a thourough inspection of the room revealed good housekeeping and caretaking.

The hotel is well placed for Times Square (around 10-min walk) and the area felt very safe. The Theatre Diner across the road is ideal for breakfast or dinner. Our room was just large enough for 3 sharing (two beds + fold-up bed) with ample wardrobe/drawer space. The decor is a little 'tired' but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. We had […] a couple of issues (asked for extra blanket and plug for the bath) and these were dealt with immediately. The bathroom wasn't large but it was perfectly adequate. Our room was on level 6 at the back overlooking the pool and it was very quiet which was great after a hectic day in the city. You do have to go through the garage to get to the lifts (this building probably started life as a motel) but we didn't find this a problem, and unlike other reviewers we didn't find the lifts slow. Free tea and coffee is available in the lobby, where you will also find a cash machine and internet access. Rooms have large fridge and microwave, but no kettle. Reasonably powerful hairdryer in the bathroom and there is also an iron and board in the room. If you are looking for a clean, reasonably appointed room at a good price, with great access to the city, then you won't go far wrong with this hotel. Pročitajte više
