Hotel was basically everything you would expect at this price point. The hotel and the room itself were very clean. Front desk was friendly, free breakfast was nice, and the bed was comfortable. This was a perfect location for us as we drove our son to Penn State for this semester. Great location, quick check-in, very pleasant staff and the room was comfortable and clean.

This is absolutely the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in at this price point. I recommend it highly, and I would stay there in the future. The hotel is very clean, well-maintained, and quiet. I kept leaving a tip for the maid, and he/she kept leaving the money in the room, which says a lot about the honesty of the staff (hopefully he/she took the tip […] after I checked out). One thing that potential guests should know is that the description of the hotel as "three blocks from Penn State" is greatly exaggerated. i had a great time, but I only stayed one night. My only problem was finding the hotel, I was driving in at night and it was somewhat rainy, but still, the sign is small and attached to two other signs. Once I found it, I had no problem finding it again.

Level of accommodations exceeded my expectations as I usually stay at Hilton properties. Room was nice and the beds very comfortable. Had a great happy hour with food at Otto's Brewery a mile or two north on Atherton Street (322). Breakfast was superb and the front desk very helpful. Definitely will use this property again.

Our room was very small. It had one full-size bed. There was a wardrobe, but no closet. The bathroom had a toilet and nice size shower, but no tub. We basically just slept there for the night. However, if we were there any longer, I would have asked for a larger room. I think the hotel needs to improve the bed pillows. It was about what I expected for a Sleep Inn. The room was clean, but a little smelly when first walked in. The bathroom is small with just a stand up shower and toilet, sink is outside the bathroom in the room itself. But again, bathroom was clean. Bed not real comfy, but clean sheets. For the price and for just one night stay it was fine.

This hotel is super clean and in great condition considering I know it's been around since I was in school. It's a convenient walk to campus, downtown and even Beaver Stadium. We walked on game day and made it to our seats in about 30 minutes. State College is a university town and on game weekends, the town sees a great influx of football fans. Hotel rates can quadruple for weekends and the rooms can suffer from fan behaviour. Sleep Inn is a very nice average hotel that is subject to the same influences as all the other hotels in State College, so expect rates to rise for game weekends and […] some room abuse. The hotel room was clean, beds comfortable and fairly quiet. The staff was very eager to please and very nice. The price was very competitive for the area. The only complaint I have was the lay out of the bathroom with the sink in the room and the toilet and a big shower squeezed into a room the size of a closet. It was workable though.

Had a great time while attending a Penn State Football game and they let me check in early before the game started. The room smelled like air freshener to cover up the smoke smell. It smelled more like smoke than air freshener. The shower stall was like a capsule. My kids kept opening the door because the were uncomfortable in there. Very strange bathroom.

4.5 stars. Close to PSU, not expensive, clean. Would have been 5 stars, but for the room I had - near the stairs and elevator on the second floor - I really, really, really should have taken earplugs. Every time the second floor entry door opens and closes, it makes a kachunk noise, which had me on-and-off awake pretty much solidly after 5 AM.

Over all good experience. Easy check-in and check-out process. Arrived before official check-in time and they had room available and ready for me. Daily warm continental breakfast everyday. Only con was the smoking rooms were on one the floor and that entire floor reeked of smoke and cigarettes as soon as you got off the elevator.

We arrived very late the night of check-in and left early the next morning but still enjoyed our short stay. The room was clean and comfortable and the shower was great. The complimentary continental breakfast was the best.
