A good hotel probably more for business users. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Prices in bar and resturant high for those not on expenses.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet and beautiful surrounding. Given a room facing the swimming pool. Fantastic view. Asked for late checkout without any problem. Wife brought family over from Jakarta to enjoy the new Singapore attractions. All of them love this hotel. Highly recommended.

Excellent mid to high end hotel, owned by the Shangri-la group, so a fine pedigree. Singapore is not cheap (by UK standards) so be prepared to spend some money. We were offered an upgrade to Club standard on arrival: this is definitely worth it (do the sums) as you get a high floor (nice views and quiet), breakfast and happy (2) hour drinks and snacks […] included, and when you consider the price of alcohol and food, you'll understand why we took it. We always stay at Traders when in Singapore. It is in a great location, near Orchard Road and Botanic Gardens. The pool area is lovely, ideal for chilling out! Upgrading to Traders Club room is a great idea and great value for money. The staff in the club lounge are always helpful and welcoming.

This hotel is at the far West end of Orchard Rd, so nearest MRT is Orchard Central. Easy from airport via the airport shuttle bus at about 1/3 cost of cab. worst hotel i've stayed at in past 10years. And i've stayed at a lot of hotels around the world, including many in Singapore. Based on size and condition of room, the rate should be less that U$60 a night...that's how bad it is.

great service except for the food. Large expensive breakfast buffet, but when I only wanted to order something small off the bfast menu, service was poor. I received $6 coffee in a espresso cup with no refills

Hotel is in a lovely location, quiet but within easy reach of Orchard Road and Botanic Gardens. Pool area is lovely and the Club Lounge is well worth the upgrade. Staff there are very nice and attentive and the drinks and food are delicious. We have stayed here on 3 occasions en route to Australia. We like the excellent pool and surrounds, plus the proximity to the Botanical Gardens. The Ah Hoi pool-side restaurant also provides good food and service. However, the room decor is now rather tired and in need of refurbishment.

Stayed at Traders for 9 days/nights in early April 2012 whilst attending a course at PSB Academy. Mainly business customers / couples. Free WiFi in rooms. Staff very helpful. Rooms keep very clean & tidy. Nice outside pool on Level 4. Gym and spa area also pretty good. Practical Tanglin Mall shopping centre located right next door to hotel. Traders […] is situated near the start of Orchard Road, it's a bit of a trek to the nearest MRT stop though (Orchard Road) so you might end up having to take taxis more often than you'd like - saying that taxis are cheap (c/w UK and Australia). If you're only in Singapore for a couple of days/nights and you're looking for a gretaer variety of options for dining out, bars and nightlife etc.. then you'd probably be better off staying closer to the Clarke Quay / Marina Bay area. It is a bit of off Orchard but more quiet, relaxing N no hustle atmosphere which makes me just relax. Yet still walking distance to all Orchard Area n great acess to Dempsy or Holland too. We paid for Club Floor rooms which are no better than normal rooms. The actual club floor was way too small for the people they had and the service their was poor. This hotel should not have the same brand as other traders Hotels that I have stayed in as it is below that standard.

Stayed for one night for business. The hotel is very adequate, nothing to write home about. Good location near Orchard. Very small and a little outdated rooms but good value for the money. Questionable whether I'd stay again. At aaround USD 60 the seafood buffet was not worth it.

Room was small, but clean. Some channels on the TV were a bit fuzzy, but why would I go to Singapore to watch TV? Catching a cab was always very easy. I only ate breakfast at the hotel once. It was great, but on the pricey side. I prefer to walk down Orchard Road and get some rolls at one of the bakeries.

When I saw that there was a deal on the famous Traders Hotel, I jumped to take it and maybe because my expectations were so high, they were not fulfilled... I stopped over at the traders on route from Australia to the UK and this was a very comfortable hotel, the staff were very helpful and happy to help. I was a single traveller and the staff were very helpful with any questions i had regarding getting around. The price is high but the location is not ideal. I use it as I love the gym and the saunas. The gym is well stocked, but could be bigger with more weights and machines. This is a good hotel in a great location -the 3 minute walk to Orchard Rd was lovely and quiet. The pool area and fitness facility are excellent. The staff are very friendly and efficient. My room, although very standard, was good.

it is easy to walk to orchard road shopping or there is a free shuttle bus which is also the stop for the train services which are excellent. From there it is easy to get all over the island at a cheap cost and very quickly. The hotel is in a quiet location but access is good.

The hotel rooms (Club Level) are superbly suited for the business traveler. Most useful things to me were - 1. very well stocked working desk. 2. free wi-fi 3. laundromat (to escape the extremely high laundry costs) 4. small yet functional cupboard space 5. good view 6. Club Lounge

Hotel staff is friendly and very helpful for hotel enquiries, but if you ask them about any attractions for tourists they are very vague. Also they do not have a concierge as such to find out any information either. When we asked for information about Sentosa and what to do and how to get there the most convenient way, they could not tell us anything […] except what we already knew…. Universal Studios is there! We did not find out until the 2nd last day they had a shuttle bus that could drop you off at the train station or other locations. Staff could supply a little more info to help tourists out. We were on our last leg of a two week holiday in Singapore. This hotel was a dissappointment as the room was very small, old fittings, cramped toilets. I couldn't beleive it was a Shangri-la hotel. Will not stay here again.
