Loved this quaint little hotel, it was just what I was looking for. Does not have all the amentities that a large chain might have like blow dryers and irons in the room but just ask the front desk as they keep spares. Well let me start by saying that the parking was advertise in hotels.com as free, when we got there we were charge $37 dollars a day. Breakfast consisted of old bagels and donuts they tasted bad, the cream cheese was spoil. Rooms were small and bead not comfortable. Overall not a good experience. Never again.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Andrew Jackson. It is located in the heart of the French Quarter, just a few blocks from Jackson Square and Bourbon St. I had a petite double room, which is a small room just barely able to fit a double bed, small dresser and TV, with a small bathroom attached. It was just perfect for me because I only needed a "place […] to sleep" for my trip. I spent most of the time touring the sites in New Orleans. The courtyard was very pretty even though the fountain wasn't turned on (too cold). They serve a continental breakfast. My room was so clean, it almost smelled too much of soap! The hotel appeared nice upon arrival. Our room as disappointing as the shower was very old with paint cracking into the tub and black streaks in the plastic. Not one person in the hotel had hot water on our departure morning. Our door barely closed and you could see a half inch of light under the door accompanied by the humming of a large courtyard […] light they kept on untill early morning. If not for two things they'd get a 4 star rating from me. The location is great, staff courteous, courtyard is beautiful and the rooms are adequate. One doesn't stay in the Quarter to stay in a hotel room. It's merely a place to shower and sleep. HOWEVER, the filthy carpet in our room turned my feet black. WHY IS THERE EVEN CARPET?? New Orleans is hot […] and humid all year, just have tile or linoleum. Carpet is gross in that sort of climate and obviously is not being cleaned ever. And the parking issue is also unacceptable. The hotel does not offer enough spaces in their lot for all guests. And street parking in the Quarter is either non-existant or so far away and the parking garages are New York expensive. The hotel is old, though cool in a New Orleans historical way. My primary complaint is something they really don't have much control over, due to this fact. It was very loud. Sound from the shared courtyard was right next to my head, and both neighboring guests and morning sounds were right next to my head. Perfect location, great service, clean room. Room size was appropriate for a historic bldg, our only issue was that parking was not included as advertised and we thought 37.50 was a liitle high for 1 day when you can find parking a couple a blocks away for 15.00 a day.

We couldn't have asked for a better location. The hotel was perfectly situated for us- central to everything in the french quarters. We were able to walk everywhere. We only stayed for one night and left before the breakfast was available but would definitely come back here. The room was very spacious and the back courtyard is nice and private.

I used Hotels.com because I received a pop up advertising the room rate. This hotel only had one room like ours which was the bait. It was a very small loft with no seating for relaxing. Besides that, there were steep stairs to the room with no door from the stairway. It was okay, but nothing to write home about.

We always like to stay at this hotel when we come to New Orleans. It is located just a street over from Bourbon Street and is ideally located. It is an older hotel, but they have taken good care of it, and we never have to worry about anything being dirty or bedbugs. After reading other reviews we (my boyfriend & I) knew this hotel could be hit or miss, and the rooms would definitely be small, and we were pleasantly surprised. Its location right off Bourbon street was the main reason we booked it and it was so nice to be able to walk around the city and stop back at the room to drop off purchases or change clothes. […] The hotel style had the classic old New Orleans feel, our room was off the courtyard and we never got woken up by any loud noises. The room itself had just enough space for a queen bed and dresser, but the bathroom looked like it had been recently updated and was probably about half the size of the rest of the room! The staff were very nice during check in and even called over to their sister hotel the St. Pierre, a few blocks over to ask about available parking spots. We lucked out and got the last one, and although the parking lot guy there said they couldn't be held accountable for any thefts etc., gave us a tag and we were able to park from Friday til Sunday absolutely free! (Unheard of at New Orleans hotels!) All in all we went to New Orleans and stayed in the French Quarter for the city, not to stay in our hotel room so the small rooms and charming old fashioned feel was perfect for us. Room was clean but bed and linens not good quality. Faucet in sink weak flow, didn't get very hot. Fountain in courtyard not kept filled (top of pump almost at surface) and full of leaves, also left unplugged by staff. No way to adjust heat in room, got cool at night.

This place has not gotten the best reviews, but I have no complaints about this hotel. The location was great and we were able to walk everywhere from our hotel. The Hotel is in a great location if you want to stay in the French Quarter, far enough away from the noise, but close enough to enjoy the atmosphere. The Andrew Jackson is a quaint French Quarter structure. Because of its age, the shortcomings of the air conditioning were not too much of a surprise. The number one disadvantage of the structure for us was the lack of an elevator and being on the second floor. I asked for an early check-in as we were arriving via cruise ship early the morning of check-in date. While I understand that this is not guaranteed, the guy at the desk told us they had sold out the night before and so they had to clean rooms. I later found that he assigned us a room directly across the hall from the from desk when we dropped out luggage. […] Which means he knew which room needed to be cleaned right away. Since I was not trying to rent the entire hotel, I simply did not understand why we had to walk the city for 6 hours waiting for our room. When we returned at 2:30, yes 30 minutes prior to check in the room was still not ready. So I was a little disappointed that it took 7 hours to clean one room. And as we checked out the maid cleaned the room behind us in less than 5 minutes. I watched her. I thought the level of customer service was low and consideration for a traveler was just not there at all. That is their business. I would not recommend it. The hotel staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Any requests or problems we had, such as a very minor glitch with the toilet, were taken care of quickly and effectively. The location on Royal Street was fabulous, only steps from all of the action on Bourbon Street and right around the corner from our favorite late night eatery, the Clover […] Grill. This was a clean, comfortable room in an excellent location well within the French Quarter. Within walking distance of most of the main attractions,restaurants, and transit. Excellent location for a tourist hotel in the French Quarter. Very convenient for Jackson Square, restaurants & night life, but just far enough from the bars that noise is no problem. There was quite a steep surcharge for a twin bed room (double room with two beds rather than one double bed), which wasn't clear at the time of booking online.
