The room was great for our needs. The hotel is a bit old and has some wear, but good overall. The continental breakfast was bad. Need much improvement there. Only thing good about it was the waffles.

I needed a one night stay for graduation exercises at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. This hotel was close by. I stayed in building 16. The room was very clean. The folks are very nice, and it had a free continental breakfast. Pets are allowed in some rooms but not in others, so if you do not have a pet, I assume they put you up in a room […] that does not normally have pets. I saw no evidence of pets being in our room, so no problem! I would definitely stay in this hotel again. It was well under $100 for a spacious living area with a king sized bed. I did not stay in this hotel because after I checked in I was uncomforable with the location and condition of the property. The building next door to my room--one of the suite buildings--had burned down. The manager said it was due to an electrical short in a light fixture which did not give me much comfort. Do not believe the pictures or positive reviews and fall victim to booking at this sub par properrty. The neighborhood was sketchy as well as the folks hanging around outside the building. The room was very dated and worn looking. There we cigarette burn marks in the curtains in our NON-SMOKING ROOM. The grounds had poision ivy growing along the sidewalk. […] I felt so uncomfortable being there we left to stay in another hotel. Ok hotel at best. Run down and needs maintainance. limited services on the weekend. Cleaning staff isn't doing there job. Some shady people are around. So watch yourself.....

Nice place we really just slept there because we were out all day into the night only problem we had was when we was there and went to turn on the light in the living room there was no lught bulb in the lamp and two bulbs were blown in the ceiling. That's all otherwise it was nice.

Stay was overnight so it was ok. Walls are paper thin & we could hear everything next door which is very annoying when wanting a good nights sleep. Wouldn,t use again just for that reason.

I was late arriving and as I drove around to my room,I noticed Police tape around a building next to mine. When I stopped to look, the building had burned down. Did not see that coming. Room was very dated. If not for the late hour I would have left. Very dissapointed that you guys did not share this info. Will consider this when booking again.

We booked this room in advance for 1 night on our way home from florida. Upon arrival, we were unhappy to find that the "none smoking" room was obviously smoked in. Our son has asthma and so the room was not safe for him. The room was very dirty! They must not think people look under furniture or in corners. There was also a crowd of men outside our […] room @ 2 in the morning. This along with the fact that our son was having problems with the air quality, helped us decide to check out early! We left by 3 a.m. and will never return to this place again! Only 1 towel the first night. Had to get more from the desk. The next day, housekeeping knocked on the door and I asked them to come back in an hour. I was out the whole day. When I returned, I noticed they never came to the room.

In a 6 nights stay they never changed the bed's sheets, they didn't even make the beds. I had to ask three times for new towels. And to make the stay worst, the beds were uncomfortable!! I would not come back to this hotel again!!

This is an old Marriot Residence Inn that Marriot decided was too run-down to carry the brand name. Start there. The staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating and there was a very, very complete breakfast. The wall paper was peeling and the floor boards along the walls were turning yellow and had gunk collected behind them. The room was clean in the sense that all the major areas were nicely vaccumed and wiped down and the dishes had been washed and put away in the cabinets, but there was dust in the corners and things were falling apart - like the enamel on the toilet seat was peeling off. Our stay was great! Very friendly staff! The only complaint I had was the outlet next next to the hair dryer did not work so I was unable to use the hair dryer.

My husband and I were greeted by the rudest staff. We are a biracial couple and apparently that is unacceptable to this particular hotel staff. We were then given a smoking room when we requested a non smoking room. Yes at 4 am when we arrived we had the pleasure of changing rooms. We entered our room....dirty! This was the only hotel I found in the Columbia area that met my needs. I enjoyed the little country/home feeling when I arrived. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price was good. However you get limited limited service to your room on some days. Also I had to be moved to a different room because of a bug infestation. Overall I think I would stay elsewhere for my next trip to Columbia.
