Pros: Great physical surroundings. Attentive staff. Great room (I had a suite), convenient airport transfers. Cons: No where to go to walk outside hotel and see the city. Pretty much strictly business. Food very expensive versus value.

This is a very luxurious hotel located near the international airport. It is a bit of distance to the tourist sights so this place may not appeal to tourists as much. The hotel was good about arranging a driver to take us around for a day. The food was good. Accomodations were clean with lots of friendly staff to make things easy.

I stay at the Leela each time Im in India. Beautiful hotel with great security. The outdoor garden is so tranquil and a pleasure to relax in outside. The staff are friendly and helpful. Traditional greeting is much a nice way to receive people when they first arrive.

I have stayed at The Leela Mumbai on several occassions and each time the experience wonderful. Located close to the airport is great for when u arrive and depart. Wonderful breakfast selection. Beautiful outdoor garden area and so tranquil inside.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and found it very comfortable, kids really enjoyed themselves, including the swimming pool. Breakfast was great with a variety of food. At times the room service was slow, especially when requesting for DVDs and we came across a couple of staff members who were miserable and expected tips. Stayed here for one night with the family just before we flew back home. Nice end to our stay with friendly staff with creature comforts that started to get us back into England mode. A lot of the other guests seem to be using the hotel for only a night before they flew somewhere or came from the airport.

I must say that this was one of the best hotels I have stayed at in India. I also tried the JW in Mumbai but we liked Leela better. The staff at the hotel is very nice and you are always greeted with a smile.

I have stayed at the Leela over 40 times now and have never written a review. Most visits were from 2005-2007 as I had a business close by - visiting for a week at a time. It was my home from home. This trip was Christmas 2012 Most of the staff try to be so helpful and caring . Getting things done however can be a challenge but that's down to staff […] talking to each other. On the negative side the prices for food and drinks are very much 5* in a place where the average wages are £2-3 a day. So you are drinking a draft beer the hotel sources locally for probably £0.10p and charges £8 for it. The same price you would be charged in any 5* in Europe or the US. However the area is airport adjacent only, so is not central Mumbai. To get to Mumbai center from here is at least 1 - 2 hours by car as the traffic is appalling. There is nothing but slums and low end housing in walking distance. No shopping or sights to see. So its is not a place to stay for a holiday - its an airport stopover hotel. The Chinese restaurant in the basement is very poor. Service is so so but food way below par. I had soggy sweet and sour chicken, overcooked Pak Choi and a small portion of chicken fried rice and 2 beers, all for £50 which again are international top prices for something which is not good quality. From the moment I was picked up at the airport to checkout I loved this hotel. I booked a royal club room which had me checking in on the 8 th floor. This level of service and attention is among the best in the world. The checkout was done by someone who seemed to be in training and so it was longer than expected, but nothing to change the experience significantly. These are necessary parts of the well run hotel sometimes. Excellent!

Ths hotel hasa nice vibe, good selection of restaurants and bars. Nice pool area. Staff were very attentive. Handy to international airport but I did'nt find any restaurants or shops within walking distance.

A great place to relax and recharge my batteries after 3 weeks 'on the road' in India. Beautifully appointed public areas, very good restaurant, well equipped gym and a comfortable bed. What more could you want?

Good hotel with pleasing staff. Have stayed before and got an upgraded room this time. Very pleasing grounds with swimming pool - feels like you are in paradise in the centre of Mumbai (well by the Airport any way). The staff cannot do enough to help. Everyone is pleasant, polite, and will do anything for you. They made my short stay effortless. The hotel itself is beautiful with gorgeous water features and statues dotted everywhere! The pool area is also lovely with plenty of day beds. I love this hotel. Have stayed here - I think 4 times already - on the way back to the US. This time, it was no different. Except my room was cold. No amount of thermostat adjustment made it warm. Right from the airport pick up , every thing was wonderful about the hotel. The staff is very friendly and the room service was awesome. The food in all their restaurants was great.The room was a little smaller than I expected but all in all, this hotel turned out to be wonderful for my family and my 2 year old daughter.

we have selected Leela based on my experiences with Leela Hotel in Goa. But it proved to be a wrong decision. I could not understand the reason for the arrogance of the staff in the Hotel. We were made to wait with our kids for Breakfast both the days for around 30 minutes in the morning citing the reason that they have heavy rush. surprisingly BF […] arrangements were made in only one small restaurant repeatedly for the second day also. we could not get the baby cot even after booking it in advance and paying for that instead we were given a mattress on floor. Although we were confirmed the availability of the baby cot before reaching the hotel on phone, they denied the same later even after talking the Duty Manager. Lot of reluctance was shown for assisting us for cleaning the feeding bottle for our 5 months old baby. When they collected the bottles after repeated calling the room service guys it was returned without proper cleaning and additional foul smell in that. I needed one night near the airport. This was a very good rate and a very decent hotel. It's a little tired in some areas - but only in the look. It is very well maintained. Excellent staff all round.

This is indeed a 5 star hotel and the Leela Kempinski group really redefine luxury hotels. However for the Leela Mumbai there is one downside in that it is not a very family friendly hotel.
