Overall evaluation is a 3.0 at the most. Staff was good but no ice in one of the buildings and the air conditioner was very loud at night. Had to go hunting for a pool towels since they were all used but the staff did bring more when alerted. Breakfast was very fresh and hot in the mornings. "Not impressed!"
The young man that checked us in was unfriendly and surly. It was awkward finding our room and it was comfortable even though on the smallish side. The hotel is older and of a 3-story 'motel' style. The location was a bit out of the way for us, but there were many restaurants to choose from close by so we ate out and spent little time at the hotel. […] On the positive side, the breakfast in the morning was very good and unusual in that it was made to order so we ordered a cooked breakfast - hash browns and bacon with a poached egg on top. (We normally avoid cooked egg and meats offered precooked in chain hotels and stick to cooked oatmeal and toast). We would not choose to stay here again. "On hwy 111 - very convenient and close to family"
I had a 2nd floor room when I requested a 1st floor. But there was an elevator and we were on the end. It was the best of 5 hotels I have stayed at in the past year in Palm Desert. There was a private balcony that was lovely - big patio door that we could leave open at night because the weather was so perfect. It was fantastic.
