A very good price for a good hotel. The location is just on the outskirts of Central Florence however the bus stop is right outide the hotel (you can but the tickets from reception) and it only takes 20 minutes to get into the centre. Stayed for 1 night in July. Checkin and the room were very nice. Also has an added bonus of a Car park to leave hire-cars. Only improvement to make would be service in the hotel restaurant. It was very quiet and had to go to reception to get a waitress. Though once having meal all was well.

After staying at a few old world hotels in Venice and Rome, we realized we are not old world people. We loved the Starhotels - bright, clean rooms, soft linens and "normal" plumbing! We wish we would have stayed in Stahotels in Venice and Rome. We know for next time!

when we arrived we were immediately offerred to transfer down to their sister hotel the Michaelangelo (closer to downtown florence), don't know why? overbooked? anyway we went to the Michaelangelo and where I had requested (as per the room description on hotels.com) a room with a double and a single bed, we got a room with one queen size bed.
