The front desk is like the keystone cops: much action, no effect; long line in the middle of the afternoon, despite 3 staff. The hotel seems to be in a time warp from the 1980s, even a boxy TV versus flat screen. Twin beds were like child's beds, small; low to ground; no cushioning.

A pretty typical, albeit below average, airport hotel. The place got off on the wrong foot right away. My research indicated they have an airport shuttle (they don't and this was a key factor in its selection) to cover the mile or so from the airport. Hotel is within walking distance of airport. The guys at the hotel reception will give you directions - nothing complicated only to stay at right hand side of road! I saw a bus stop at the airport for the Hotel Gromada so they obviously do pick-ups (eventhough you can walk it in 10 mins). Breakfast not fantastic, but the basics are there (coffee, juice, cold meats, cheese) to keep the hunger away and help you start the day. The hotel is very close to the airport and that is why I chose it. It is an older hotel and the beds haven't been changes since it opened- or so it seemed. They were narrow and U-shaped; lower in the middle and higher on the edges, and very uncomfortable. The room also had a strong smell that must have come from cleaning products. Bus 175 (the stop is right outside the hotel) which runs every 10 minutes gets you to the airport in 3 minutes and the same bus gets you to the centre of the city, i.e. Central Railway Station, old city. The route aends in the old town - the trip takes about 20 minutes and I found more convinient if you want to walk in the old town to exit not at the last stop (Pl. Pilsudskego) but on the next stop (Pl. Zamkovy). The hotel was fine -- just fine. But, there is just as nice a hotel -- Hotel Okecie -- about 50 metres down the road, and that hotel has a free shuttle to the airport. It is not a lot for a taxi from the hotel to the airport, but, if there is just as nice a hotel down the street, why stay at the Gromada and pay for a taxi in the morning.

Close to the Airport but not at a walking distance as some recommend on this website, I did that mistake and end up walking for 20 minutes. Take the bus #175 or #188 for 3 stations (you can buy the ticket on a machine near the bus stop). The hotel is OK generally speaking, great location before and after flights.

The hotel is close to the Airport and the best solution is to get a 24hour bus pass from the Airport shop. The bus stops just outside the Hotel. You can take the bus to the Old and new parts of the Town Centre. The Double bed is two single beds, the beds could do with new matresses.

The hotel is conveniently located in proximity of the Chopin Airport. Parking is not free but not too expensive, approximately $10 per day. This is a hotel built in the days of Communism; it is, in my view, poorly maintained. The beds are very old. And, the hotel is not, as is implied, close to the airport. It is a thirty zloty ride away. But the price is right and it will do if one is not too picky.

I had a 1 night layover and an early flight the next day so I chose to stay near the airport. This hotel is old, but the room and bathroom was clean. This is the most important. This hotel is hilarious. As if the doors painted jet-black aren't funny enough (think "Big Yellow Storage", but with black doors), more surprises await upon entry. Looking at these doors, I was actually surprised to enter a hotel room, and not a cupboard. Admittedly, the rooms are clean & tidy (complete with a "guaranteed clean and disinfected" label […] on the toilet!), but very basic. The taps are too big for the sink, so a lot of water goes on the floor. The shower head was faulty, and washed the walls and ceiling as well as it washed me. The terracotta tiling in the bathroom is straight out of a 1970s magazine. One of the lamps appears to have no on/off switch, so can't be used. Most of the electrical sockets are hidden behind large pieces of furniture. The radiator can't be turned off, so I had to sleep with the windows open - when it was 2 degrees C outside. The key ring weighs about half a kilo. The beds were so uncomfortable that I had to sleep on top of the duvet, and use the bedspread as a duvet. The "room amenities" mentioned on this site are clearly based on the (more expensive) newer part of the hotel, because the older, cheaper part certainly does not have air conditioning. OK for a 1-night stay before an early flight and little else. Considering that I had just spent 3 nights in a beautiful flat in central Warsaw for only a few £ a night more, this hotel offers poor value for money. Had a 14 hour lay-over in Warsaw. Just needed a place to sleep and Gromada was just fine. Didn't have time to try any amenities. Room was clean. Beds were quintessentially European (I want to open a mattress store on that continent). Bathroom was HUGE, and very clean. Downside, elevator was broke in the morning. Also, when we landed the guy at the airport […] said there was a shuttle. After waiting 30 minutes we hopped a cab and learned from the desk that there is no longer a shuttle service.
