the hotel was good but the aircon in the hotel was faulty and out of the 3 days we stayed there 2 days we were without aircon, after complaining every hour on the 3rd day they shifted us to a room with better aircon

The room that we stayed in was spacious and clean. we had a really comfortable stay. there was a small mix up at the beginning when they assigned us to a room that was not cleaned up. the location of the hotel was good, plenty of food at the nearby surrounding area of the hotel. Hotel room was big but noise supression could be better. Aircon was slow to cool but acceptable. Food quality at breakfast was good but lack variety. My child enjoyed the big swimming pool. No free WiFi is a letdown but compensated with free parking & free shutlle to Legoland.

Service is poor. Talking to hotel staff, you feel like talking to outmoded robots who either do not comprehend or cannot care less. We enjoyed our overnight stay at Thistle, kids love the huge pool. Room is comfortable and big. They have shuttle service to the nearby malls such as City Square and KSL City, as well as Johor Premium Outlet, and hopefully Legoland when it opens. Upon checkin, the room is not cleanup yet. Talked to reception, they explained the system showed was done. This showed something wrong with their communication system. When they re-issued another room, it was also based on the system. If a customer is not pleased with the room, the very next step is to ensure this will not happen again by communicating […] with staff to re-confirm. Instead they don't bother and assign from system again. When we checkin to another room, the toilet flush is not working. Had to call the engineer to fix it. I enjoyed my stay in the hotel (I scored cleanliness 2 as there the sheets on the bed were marked) as it has good food, and good staff. Biggest disappointment was the cost and the slow speed of the Internet. And most annoying WiFi was only available in the lobby, and who wants to sit there working?

I was impressed by the hotel room w the glass toilet so i booked the standard room without realising that this room is without the glass window. Had a 3D2N stay on 27-29 january 2012. My partner is a particular person when it comes to room. She enjoyed the stay and we were impressed by the big bed which can easily cater for 3 person or even 4! The location might be a small little bit inconvenient but then, is peaceful!!! But then, you wouldn't want to have crowded and noisy surrounding thanks […] to the road which is what i like about this hotel. Getting to this hotel from the checkpoint (link between singapore and malaysia) is only about RM 12 which is definately affordable. The hotel cater shuttle bus to nearby mall too. All in all, nice friendly staff, relaxing enviroment, great room and affordable price which i told my partner that i'm going next month for a night stay since i want to enjoy the cheap massage in malaysia. Outlook of the hotel gives a grand impression. However, my expectation drops to ground zero after entering the room. The pillow is bad, shower is not adjustable it is at most a 3 star quality hotel. I will not recommend to anyone. Unless they overall the room.

Superb views from our 7th floor room overlooking the Straits and across to Singapore. Friendly front desk staff and good pool. Conceirge staff excellent and went out of their way to help us with any query and request we had. Great shuttle bus service to a range of shopping malls.

We wanted to stay in Jhor Baru before going to Singapore. The room they initially gave us after standing 30 minutes in line to check in was a smooking room even though we reserved a non smoking room. The hotel was loud and noisey and the staff did not care about the guests.

Overall hotel stay is good. Room overlooking the sea and swimming pool is fabulous. The receptionists were all very polite and helpful. Just find that there re alot of dusts under the lamp and dirts on the cup and pantry setting.
