We had the best time at crowne plaza. All of the workers were very nice and helpful. They have us complimentary bottles of wine, breakfast and a free parking pass. All of that topped with excellent service- how can you go wrong? We will definitely be coming back again... Very soon:)

The hotel is on the older side, but it is still pretty well-maintained. The weekend I was there it was sold-out so it looked like they had cleaned the rooms in a haste (found chewed gum and trash in the ice bucket). Because there was such a wait checking in they comped breakfast the next day. My only complaint was that my room had formerly been a smoking […] room and it still had a strong smell. Restaurant service and breakfast were great. Maintenance, housekeeping, and a couple of front dest people were friendly and helpful. The building needs some work/update (pool fixture and lighting, bathroom, and sauna).Over all, it is convenient to some historical sites and great proximity to VCU.

The staff were extremely professional. Especially Shanna in the hotel resturant. The hotel was in downtown Richmond, however, it was a long walk to things surrounding the hotel and I don't think it would be advisable to walk there after dark. Overall the hotel was very nice and clean.

Honestly...everything was pretty good. Lobby smelled of bleach and some hallways smelled pretty strongly of bleach. Pool was near lobby. Made you think that the place was clean but it was rather unpleasant...too many strong odors.

Dont know how we booked a last minute room at this hotel and got a water-front view of the river but my BF and I certainly didnt complain ;p We were able to walk to downtown just blocks away and the location especially came in handy when the rain came down on us by surprise and we had to run back to the hotel. The room is very stylish, bed is comfortable […] and bathroom was spacious. On top of this, we got complimentary hotel freebies like a sleeping kit, shower cap, and generous shampoo and conditioner. The room had a good bed, nice linens, and cute little care package of calming lotion packets and scented spray. We stayed there on new year's eve so the hotel was filled with revelers.

The front desk staff is very good. Room was very clean with a good view. Only suggestion is for the staff to refresh the water in the pool and hot tub much more ofter give the number of people and children using both.

Before I booked I read some of the reviews and I was not sure if I wanted to booked at this hotel but I considered that was a branch hotel so I did it. Our stay was great the people at the front desk were really nice. Breakfast was great, good food and lots of options. Great location to visit the Civil War Museum at Tredeger Iron Works, and a lovely view of the James River from our room. A short walk to the State House and the surrounding museums. About 2 miles from the shops and restuarants of The Fan.

Disappointed. No hot water in the morning to take a shower. Hot tub in the pool area was not working, and the elevators were having problems too. Overall quite poor.

Very easy to find coming from the I-95 highway, very nice staff, clean and comfortable rooms, nice view on the James River side. Would stay again if we go back to Richmond.

During my stay,although I was on the 14th floor, I could hear kids running up and down the hallway and could hear the TV from the other room. I was disappointed that I was almost late for my flight as they missed my request for wake up call.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The hotel was attractive, comfortable and clean, a bit worn, but clean. The staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. The beds were fairly comfortable but a bit narrow and the mattresses were not of the best quality. We were on an upper floor on the river side, which offered a very nice view of the James River and Belle […] Island. Our reservations included breakfast. Definitely worth it! Had a fantastic hot breakfast. However we would not recommend the orange juice as it tasted like Sunny Delight instead of fresh squeezed orange juice. They did have a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and weight room, but needed repair, especially the men's sauna. I think parking garage was $12/day. Otherwise street parking by the meters is free on weekends. The only real issue we had was that our room was connected to another room and the other people were very loud. We ended up calling the front desk twice and they confronted the people in the room. Shortly after the second warning the noise subsided. We would recommend a room without a connecting door, since the connecting door did not seem to mute the noise much. Even though I was only there for one night it still wasn't bad. The staff was very helpful especially when my associate locked his keys in his car and they were able to get them out for him. A few minor things, like needing a new iron and such were resolved very quickly and it was smooth sailing from there.

Clerk at the front counter was rude. Heat was broken in the middle of winter--and the solution was some blankets. Surrounding neighborhood was a boring concrete wasteland. Room was clean and nicely appointed. And it wasn't a bad experience. But there were some problems.

The hotel was disappointing. The pool/hot tub was not very hot, the sauna was broken, and room hairdryer broke apart and was a major shock hazard, and the heat in the room did not adjust higher than 68 degrees.

Great place. Great staff. Within walking distance to everything we wanted to do for the weekend. The free shuttle was great as well. I just wish they went past the two mile range. We will stay here again for our next visit to Richmond.

Refrigerator humming woke us up first. Unplugged it. Heater rattled next. Turned it off. Then froze because there was only a light blanket on the bed. Noisy people in the hall woke us up next. Room was clean, bed comfortable. The only problem was thin walls which was surprising for a hotel like this. We could hear the woman in the next room coughing and could hear her TV. Luckily, she didn't cough or watch TV all night or we wouldn't have gotten much sleep.

We had a great experience at this hotel. The desk clerk was so helpful and friendly, even upgraded our room! Shuttle person was fabulous and took us whever we needed to go...a real plus since we had never been in Richmond before. The only complaint is the breakfast buffet in the morning. It was adequate, at best. The restaurant staff at breakfast were […] attentive and helpful so it was a shame the food did not match their good service. We did observe one very rude older gentleman who came into the buffet area, picked up some granola and then purposefully dropped it on the floor. He then went to the wait staff and told them they had a dirty floor. The poor staff then proceded to spend the next 15 minutes sweeping the whole area, mopping and working really hard to make sure the floor was spotless. The room was very nice an the staff was helpful. Should have had breakfast included for the price. CLose to everything in downtown Richmond and parking (you have to pay for parking at the hotel) was very easy to find directly around the hotel.

I met a friend in Richmond for a last minute weekend trip. The hotel is right downtown so a pretty good location. It looked like the hotel had some recent upgrades, and the rooms were very nice. Service was great too, although I wish they had told me to wait a few hours so I could park in the garage for free the whole weekend.
