The toiletries were quite adequate. I was slightly unhappy about having to pay for an upgrade in order to access a room on arrival around midday. I understand that this is prior to official check-in […] time, but in my broad experience of travelling it is only major international chains like yours that would charge for such an upgrade.Similarly, hopefully you will soon join the almost universal practice of giving free internet access to guests. Again only major international chains seem to insist on imposing unrealistically high charges for this, assuming I imagine that we are all sponsored by our companies. I am not. We had a lovely stay at the Sofitel - and we were able to check in when we arrived @ 9.30am - very rare !!

The only negative I being in the 'business district' , from the standpoint that the area changes at night! It is then your responsibility to figure out the ''nightlife'
Great room. Great views - including the lightning during the evening. Slept very well - comfortable and external noise and external light effectively blocked.

We booked a room for new years eve as a specialt treat for our 10 year old Son's birthday and of course requested a bed for him. On check in reception acknowledged our request but said there were no more roll away beds available and offered no alternative but for him to share our bed???

Stayed here for business. Lovely stay. Only three days. Not enough to really get to see Melbourne. Will stay longer next time.

Attended at Wedding at Hotel restuarant No 35. Fantastic views from both our room & the restuarant. Room was clean & modern. Only issue we had was checking in..arrived in Melb at midday & wasnt expecting to go to our room so left our bags & enjoyed some of the sights Melb offers. Came back & housekeeping still didnt have our room ready till 4. Apart […] from that delay everything else was terrific..recommend for a special night out..close to the theatre district & short walk to CBD. Not cheap but worth being spoilt. Pročitajte više
"Melbourne Luxury"
My partner and I stayed in a Club Lounge room in July 2011. Its not our first time at the Sofitel, but our first time with club lounge access. The club lounge is worth the extra money! Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, light dinner, late night snacks and all day beverages...plus computer/printer use, gaming consoles and a dvd library. We rarely needed […] to leave the hotel. The gym was really nice, great view while working out and bottles of water...so much easier than using paper cups! The staff were quite helpful, our nespresso machine in the room wasn't working and housekeeping fixed it when they cleaned the room after i left a 'help' note next to it. When we first arrived, there was a bottle of champagne with a card saying someone else's name so we called spoke to the porter and a couple of minutes later he came back, apologised and told us we could keep the champagne. Cons: the breakfast wasn't the greatest, the buffet was tiny and the menu was limited. However, you could ask the staff for something off-menu which was good! At the light dinner and drinks, no one ever called last drinks, they just took them away and didn't tell people the non-alcoholic beverages were still available after locking up the fridges. Stayed one night after a concert and tram restaurant dinner. So relaxing and comfortable. Friendly and very helpful service. Clean fresh room on 42nd floor with fantastic view to the east and south. Very comfy bed and quiet. Best Hurricane cocktail i've had. Breakfast in the 35th floor looking over the yarra river and bay was delightful. Plenty to choose […] from. We booked the room as a promation Luxury Room. They put us in a Classic Room, we were a little disappointed as we were celebrating our 22nd wedding anaversery. Beds are to soft if you have a bad back.

"Hotel Sofitel Melbourne - divine bed!"
Divinely comfortable bed, luxurious room, excellent location. Sofi's bar is lovely, as is the Atrium bar. Only disappointment was the buffet breakfast, at $40 per head, not good value, waited ages for coffee, food good but not fantastic. would definitely stay there again but go out for breaky.
